  • hmm.... wolf, i consider myself to be a fairy competent cook and that sounds very complicated! maybe i don't make desserts enough. i guess you'll just need to bring it again next time....

  • You could replace gelantine by agar to go vegan, but I have no clue what vegans use to create a mouse (get air in) if there is no eggs or cream.

Google and get hundreds of recipes immediately.

  • the beetroot hummus that i made was vegan and with that lactose-free cheese we could have easily made vegan pizzas. come to the next one oliver!

Nice one about the hummus, Kattt.

Lactose-free cheese? Presumably Cheezly or Scheese?

I'd love to come, might even induce me to read a book again. :)

I also love cooking and could do something.

  • hehe. I kind of get the impression that this is more a cook, not book club. :D

  • oh but there's lots of literary discussion honest, we dont talk about food or bikes at all...much.

  • @oliver, unfort the lactose free cheese is not vegan, they just add lactase. but i am sure people have invented vegan pizza.
@kattt, granted there is a bit of a detour in the recipe to keep it dairy free, if you are ok with lactose then cream and chocolate is all you need for a good canache.

  • we did a lot of book talking!!
and a lot of food talking...
and a lot of bike talking...

  • speaking of which..

  • these are the guys. world war one italian bicycle infantry, the bersaglieri

  • That is awesome Kattt, I'd forgotten to search on this. Are those Italians carrying folding bikes???

EDIT: There is a whole wiki entry that, that pic came from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_infantry
    interesting stuff!

  • I'm gonna be all over Bukowski just as soon as I finish this Chekhov. Hopefully I can make the meet up this time. Is it going to be pizza again?

  • i'm just finishing up farewell to arms. ha ha. what bukowski are we reading next?

btw, i can make vegan cheeze topping if it's needed.

  • ham on rye...... it's a sandwich party kids!

  • My social group is failing hard.
Kattt - do you know dates you can make yet?

  • There's a group? Can you add me pls?

  • please refer to social group

  • Lovely afternoon of literary chat and sandwiches once again. Wolf your chocolate, gold and cheese sandwiches were out of this world.
I had to explain to Mike why I was so late home, 'well we got lost in you tube 80's videos'

"I'm as serious as cancer, when I say rhythm is a dancer"

Gonna find a copy of Frankstein on the bay now, hurray!
