Anyone know if the bamboo t-shirts shrink at all as the XL is a smidge small at 22.5" pit to pit?
-
• #254
VB, checking with the missis, the XL is rather small, my normal XL are 62 cm and on this bamboo ones is only 57, I gonna be fu@~ up.
Any ideas

Wayne is currently trying an XL, hippy is trying a L and I'm giving the M a whirl.
Hopefully they'll report back on the size, how it feels, washing, shrinkage (or stretch) or anything else that they think is worth mentioning.
I think the material is pretty ace. And where I normally hesitate because of cotton, this stuff is pretty wonderful.

Maybe the XLs could be a larger model, American Apparel? Personally would be happy to pay extra for a better fit t-shirt.

Wayne, please could you let us know what your ideal pit to pit is? Maybe measure your favourite non skin tight shirt?

t shirts are boss when it comes to comfort and wicking ability - been wearing it on the turbo and it's nice and cool and dries quickly
but for us 'gifted descenders' the xl is* very* snug - a true pit to put measurement of the bamboo t is 21" and they are a bit of a hipster cut.
ben - I'd normally have a 23.5" pit to pit t shirt

sorry, but that is way to small for me
-
• #261
VB, that is also way too small for me. sounds like some of us need a bigger XL than is provided for by the bamboo. I'd about the same as Wayne, a 23.5" is about perfect.
Is it possible for the XL Ts to be from a different manufacturer, if that can't be done I'd need to cancel my order (and I really really want those Ts) as the bamboo would be a visual nasty.

PS: Cheers Wayne for being the test Clydesdale.

What are the pit to pits on the other size shirts? If they are all coming up almost a size smaller than normal, might some of us need to revise our choice of sizes?

I smell a size panic !

Bamboo! Good choice. Some info:
Bamboo fibre is softer than the softest cotton, has a natural sheen to the surface and feels similar to silk or cashmere. It is sustainable, anti-bacterial, UV-resistant, hypoallergenic, thermo-regulating, deodorizing, does not retain odours and is biodegradable. It is more absorbent than cotton, absorbing 60% more moisture and drying 20% quicker. It also wicks sweat away from the body.
Bamboo fibre also has natural UV protection. The 100% bamboo fabric has an SPF of 14.
Washing info:
You can wash Bamboo products just like cotton — cold or warm water and tumble dry. We do recommend a gentle cycle. No bleach or fabric softener. Remove promptly from the dryer. 100% bamboo products should not shrink — The cotton blended products will shrink some, but less than 100% cotton shirts.
So if it's 100% then no probs on shrinkage. But if its a blend then I would allow approx. 3% for shrinkage.

The measurements are here:
http://www.londonfgss.com/post161223-242.htmlThe S is halfway between Small and Medium.
The M is most definitely Medium.
The L is still being test by hippy.
The XL big daddy wayne reported as being 'hipster cut' (smaller than expected). -

Yes it can be done. But not in bamboo... those shirts would have to be standard cotton ones.

VB if the normal cotton ones, Gildan Ultra, have the XL more roomy, 23" or 24" I will prefer this option.
The "very snug" and the "hipster cut" are a no-no for me. -

Testing is going well with the L..
The shirt is super comfy.
It's sleeves are kinda "muscle-top"ish - I don't usually have sleeves this short but no biggie.
The material is thin compared to some of my shirts but kinda stretchy.
The L is reasonably long, good for not showing your crack when riding (not talking about your drugs stash).
I'm going to wear it as much as possible and see how the stink factor is before washing it :)
