• I would love to spa with a kung fu boxer

Might be difficult to hit each other with slices of cucumber over your eyes.

  • LOL I was about to correct him, but thought, it's LFGSS, someone will say something funny!

PS. Smiling, do you watch Pro boxing? Chavez Jr Vs Martinez should be good, you watching? Sept 15th.

  • **MD - Ryota Murata is brilliant, he fights like a pro, my second favourite boxer in the middle weights, will definitely watch Chavez Jr, I would love to learn Kung Fu but I think I am getting too old !!!!

  • MD - on the inside who would be stronger King Fu or boxer?

  • Akabusi keeping it real. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/expert-uk/akabusi-bolt-gives-athletics-takes-away-141533081.html

Excitement is good to see, but All this posturing is embarrassing, before or after the event.

  • (Or "Oy, Cavendish, you'd better not touch my wing mirror." )

    Great piece in the independent

  • Who made those?

  • probably adidas

  • What is it from or for? I doesn't' seem to work on it's own.

    The barcode is cute.

  • MD - Ryota Murata is brilliant, he fights like a pro, my second favourite boxer in the middle weights, will definitely watch Chavez Jr, I would love to learn Kung Fu but I think I am getting too old !!!!

Middleweights are not bad, good speed and power, where the fly weights look too skinny and not as hurtful.

Never too old as they say! It's just another hobby, you can be bad, good, and take it at your own pace. Who do you think will win out of those two? I feel Martinez is just too awkward, fast and has enough pop to land on a fairly open Jr.

MD - on the inside who would be stronger King Fu or boxer?

Kung Fu because you would be able to poke eyes, grab necks, punch throat, use moves with legs to drop your opponent. I did some training with a Turkish Wing Chun guy, and classes were always different. It wasn't just same old thing, we practice situations, worked on a counter, and a counter, and a counter until there were no more. It's good that some are open to developing new ideas and not just following a book, and that's what will definitely help in a fight whatever it is. My Kung Fu instructor was this skinny, but tall west Indian. He didn't look strong but if he grabbed your arm with one hand, his technique would put you on the ground, and you were at his will. Certain things like that is perhaps something a boxer wouldn't be use to.

However, I still feel, a boxer knows how to punch and really hurt someone, and it could be game over. Not all Martial Artists are use to getting hit hard in the face.

  • Anthony Joshua is a Finchley boy. If he wins his fight tonight we will get a gold post box :)

  • The canoe sprint is very impressive, they look like steamboats. The asymmetry of the oars makes me grind my teeth though.

    nice gold

  • MD - interesting your comments about kung fu, boxers routinely 'thumb' eyes and you keep your chin down for good reason, infighting though with someone who knows how to throw could definitely be problematic for a boxer.

Some of the fun stuff we do, is box two people at the same time, box with your eyes closed, spin on the spot until dizzy and then box

Boxing is hard on the body. All our boxers suffer with injuries myself included. When I got too old to spa then I think it would be good to take up Kung Fu or perhaps Jeet Kune Do.

It tickles me the idea being an old man that can do Kung Fu

  • When I got too old to spa

Surely there are options for the older enthusiast?

  • This mountain bike course looks tough.

Will it be open to the public after the olympics?

  • Looks damn tough.

The leap of faith looks really steep, and the triple danger is damn rocky.
