I for one believe that James is 100% genuine in wanting to change and to calm down. I see him as a very different person now than when I first met him. Thank God for different personalities, though--I wouldn't want him to change entirely, and certainly not his dominant character as a pronounced extrovert. James is the sort of person for whom it is simply the wrong strategy to internalise problems. When you are this communicative by nature you just have to communicate, and yes, that creates emotional overspill and conflict at times--but much less now than it used to, I think. More so than many other people, James relies on the opinions and feelings of those around him to find his way, and this is often what causes people to take issue with him, but I think his heart is completely in the right place.

james is terrible at figuring out when he shouldn't stick his head above the parapet, which is why he ends up standing in the way post-incident.

But let's not pretend he's innocent either... a quick SQL query to see how many tags survived my deletion. This query lists number of tags per user, created since 8am yesterday morning, when the average per day is 2 tags per person.

Yup, 8,412 tags. The next nearest being Oliver with 745. And this is after I'd deleted 2,000 tags, of which I know about half were also james.

He may not have started things, and those people are definitely most to blame, but he really knows how to escalate like no other.
