Here's hoping!
Or that it's warmer. I guess it's the riders job to keep us all warm though ;)

Oh, I just heard from Therese that there will be NO tickets on the door. So if you want to go, you will need a ticket off Dave (or me, if Dave runs out).

Just watch out for those naked ladies..

there's usually so many bikes locked together, and always people outside smoking (and stuff) that the chance of theft from a roller race is slimmer than an anorexic marathon runner doing a sponsored slim during lent
-
• #41
actually marathon runners, usually have better coping mechanism for fasting than you fatties. their body is better suited to using fat as a fuel source ;)

It's not at the WAC anymore - it's at the Imbibe Bar, a few hundred yards to the East. Mentioned elsewhere/Rapha's site, etc.

Latest update from Therese:
You should all have received the email with details of the venue change.
Now the race will be held at Imbibe, 173 Blackfriar's Road, SE1 8ERI hope that everything is going well with you. I am sending you a few more details about the upcoming race on Saturday.
Tickets: Looks like we will have a packed venue as we have sold about 300 tickets so far (counting tickets that all the teams have sold. If you could send me a cheque with the amount of the ticket sales after next Saturday, this would be great. I will be too busy to deal with this on the night itself. But has really helped that all the teams are getting people to come. Thanks very much!
Details: Could you let me know who will be riding on your team? Could you also forward me your rider's mobile numbers & emails? I would like to have the number of everyone racing next Saturday, just in case I need to get a hold of you. Also could you get the riders to write a very short biography? Bios will make it a lot easier for the MCs to commentate during the evening. Nothing fancy -will attach a couple of examples below from last time. By Friday am is good.
Qualifying: Please be at the venue at 5pm -we look to get qualifying times for everyone before the doors open at 7pm. You entirely decide how you want to do this: you can all qualify and the best 2 times get to ride, or you might have decided beforehand who will ride and who won't. Your reserve rider is very welcome to enter the Open Have a Go Competition. You should try to set your best qualifying time because we will be matching up - slowest rider rides against quickest rider (otherwise, you risk knocking out two best rider in the first rounds).
Teams: We have quite a few teams -this should be really quite exciting. With a handful of London club teams as well. Not telling who I am putting my money on...........
Male teams
[]Bankers
[]Media / Fireflies
[]London Dynamo
[]Couriers
[]Phoenix London
[]Brighton
[]Team Terminator
[]Kingston Wheelers
[]BFF & Bicaboy
[]London Fixed Gear Forum
[]La Fuga
[]RollapaluzaFemale teams

[]London DynamoDress code: Dressing up, cross dresseing, super hero outfits -all encouraged. We have a prize for best dressed team and rider. Also, to help out on the night I have two Burlesque ladies helping out as race cheerleaders...........Should be fun.
Make sure to have some sort of matching outfits otherwise it becomes too confusing for the spectators.
Raffle: We will have a raffle on the night benefitting the Fireflies. Prices include Rapha clothing and day out in a car from the Classic Car club. Would be good if you let your guest know that this is happening as well on the night.
**Evening in (very) brief :
**5pm all racers arrive
7pm doors open for guests (sample sale starts & shop opens)
Bar & BBQ
Note sure of times, all rounds are knock out rounds.........
12 midnight Racing due to stop

I can see Imbibe from my desk. It isn't that big, how many people are they expecting? -

They've got a large courtyard out the back which they may be using for parking, although people would have to take bikes through the bar to access it.I work opposite Imbibe and keep my bike in the office. There are bike racks here but the local yoot will happily try and nick things in broad daylight.

It's going to be far too packed. -

I don't think all of the tickets have been sold. She's assumed that they have, but I'm still holding a load as is Buffalo Bill.

Which reminds me... if anyone needs a ticket... contact me. This is all giving me stress I shouldn't have!
I got tickets as well, just in case VB runs out.
£5 to messengers, or 3 for £14.
