Christ, I've got a hangover! Missed my last train home by nanoseconds, rode home from Rochester and got lost (again), got in at 2am. Glad it wasn't raining.
Those rollers outside were very slow, the bloke in front of me had been on the indoor ones a bit earlier, his time was a second slower outside. My time was 22.6, I thought I'd be in with a shout of the "have a go" challenge but obviously not!
David, I did see you and my t-shirt over your shoulder, but as you were more than 10 feet away from me at the time I couldn't get to you!! Sorry to hear about your crash.

It was a really good night and the qualifying times were quick.
I was very upset as I had that guy in the bag and my fucking foot slipped out the pedal!Oh well, such is life, better experience for next time. Though I was consoled by snapping up a great couple of bargains from Rapha.
The place was very packed, hopefully they will arrange a bigger place next time
No riding for me today. I have a monster hangover -

unlucky mikec thought you had him! I saw that you had a problem with the pedal that sucks!!!
Had a great night good laugh!!

+1
Plus the usual big thanks to Winspar and the rest of the RP gang.
Just remembered, I woke up on the sofa at 6:30 this morning with my jeans still rolled up my legs.

and yes, pete mitchell won the final easily. he just sat on the guy for the first 600m and then blasted him.
not that surprising, really. -
• #164
yeah, he knew all along what he was doing...

Think you guys have underestimated how good Ian the other guy in the final is, he is a regular road and track racer who has won some national series races if i remember rightly!
Oh and Pete's legs are killing him today! we are just off for a 2 hours warm down ride ;-)

Bummed to miss this - looks like it was fun. My mate Moff turned up and did pretty well on all accounts, he's into 4 cross but I'm trying to get him on a fixer.
-
• #170
Arrrggghhh!!! I bloody knew it!
1 Matthew Moff 22.41
2 Seb 22.6
3 Hillbilly 22.71
4 Janky James 22.84
5 Tom P too fast 22.97
6 Nick in a skinsuit 23.06
7 Andy Casson 23.06
8 Justin Jaruis 23.092nd wasn't someone called Seb, it was someone called Sam, i.e. me!
Oh well, by the time the have a go rollers were inside I was well and truly pissed up, so I would have probably thrown up all over the stage.
-
• #171
I heard the have a go ones were a bit heavier?
-
• #172
Apparently so. Someone (possibly Nick in a skinsuit) who had been on the qualifying rollers inside rode outside just before me, he claimed he was a second slower.
-
• #174
Sam.. you DID qualify! 2nd!

Oh and Pete's legs are killing him today! we are just off for a 2 hours warm down ride ;-)Ian and his mate from La Fuga were out on the L2P training ride today.. 150k+
Had a bit of a chat with (damn I'm shit with names!) about their plans for a sportive/ride tour company. They used to race in Europe but with time constraints are racing crits rather than road races. We're talking national series crits though. No slouch!
oh I'm so with you on the peanutbuttertoastthingummy. Can i just point out to anyone who missed it AGATA RULES! Go team trixie! Having resigned myself to being totally shit on my first go I was rather surprised not to be but then pissed off to not come last (at least DFL is a statement) and not do better than I did and go out in the second round.
badtmy I'm with you on the crack, can't wait til someone hooks me up with some more rolleraction. Kudos to Kimberley from London Dynamo too (2nd), she'd never been on rollers before tonight.
I'm feeling lots of love..not very drunk either, believe it or not...
