@mk1mark been out here a few years now and riding in bcn is grand, never ridden through london but seen enough to know its not half as crazy, bike lanes zig-zag all across the city and the roads are ok, I actually think because of all the moped riders then divers are used to looking for smaller road users, you still see some shocking driving! Surfaces are ok for the most part but every now and then you find a couple of wrist jaring pot holes.
Being fairly flat its an ideal city for bikes and with out a doubt the fastest and cheapest method of transport.
Bicing (the equivilant of the london borris bikes) are pretty good and have a lot of 'stations' all across town, but can be a nightmare to use for the commute as very busy in the morning and around 5/6/7pm which can make finding and returning a pain in the arse, but its 50e for the year and an ideal alternative to a pub bike!
Best advice, GET A DAM GOOD LOCK AND NEVER LEAVE IT OUT OVER NIGHT, unfortunate amount of theiving little c*nts about! -
What's a 420 link? On the basis that I don't know what it is then I doubt I have one but if its bike related then one of the guys I work with may do....

There are 'clubs' you can join and buy over the counter. Just keep your wits about you with the reps/promo guys in las ramblas.

There's a really nice cycle path alongside the river to the East of Barca that takes you a lot of the way to Sabadell - @pepperedmunky pointed me towards when I was out there. For flat, traffic-free journey I'd thoroughly recommend.

It looks like I’ll be passing through Barcelona for just one day and night on my way to Rototom festival.
Any food recommendations veggie preferably as my partner is (I’m not).

Not sure where in the city I’ll be yet. Need to work that out and somewhere to stay the night. -
My partner is semi-veggie (flexi in her words), I'm not, but the food here is generally good:
La Cereria
Baixada de Sant Miquel, 3, 08002 BarcelonaDepends what you are looking for but this is a nice local place that does good wholesome food, but it wouldn't class as fine dining if you know what I mean, but its a good price for good food, and a bit of a quirky place to eat as well.
In general restaurants are catching up with modern society and a lot now offer decent veggie options, when I was first here then there was defo less options around.
Another cheap good place for lunch etc would be Veggie Garden, there are a couple of them in town, and the food is good, Vegan I think. Bit of an Indian vibe/cuisine. One is just round the corner from MACBA. Quick and easy.
There is a chain of places Flax and Kale that are in various spots, I've not personally eaten there but I've heard good things from mates who have.
I'll check with her later to see if she has any other hidden gems she can recommend.

Big recommend. The beer is fairly standard stuff (you can get Cervesa Fort porter occasionally, but it's mostly their lager). It's the decor and ambiance that make it great. Plus it's across the road from a place called Bar Fanny, which makes it even better.
Other beery recommendations include:
Ale & Hop, Carrer de les Basses de Sant Pere, 10, 08003 - good beer selection, a few veggie/vegan snacks/sarnies available.
Mosquito, C/ dels Carders, 46, 08003 - tapas place on an oriental tip with a decent beer selection
Homo Sibaris, Plaça Oscar, Sants - One of the originals, good tap list, extensive bottle selection, does food too. Think itstill has tables outside in warmer weather.
Brew Pub Le Sec, Carrer de Margarit, Poble Sec - Smallish gaff, brew their own beer which isn't bad. Just down the street from...
Cerveseria Jazz. Carrer de Margarit, Poble Sec - Another one of the originals with a decent list and a nice pub-like atmosphere.
Abirradero, Carrer de Vila i Vila, Poble Sec - Does tapas and a wide range of beer and is in the same neighbourhood as the two above.
Barna Brew, Carrer de Parlament, Sant Antoni/Poble Sec - Microbrewery and bar run by a Belgian.

I went to Barcalona few months back and forgot to make my recommendations.
Sesamo for their vegetarian Tapas taster menu (€25pp 7 courses and a couple of glasses of wine)
Was proper good, really small place and easy to miss, but worth searching for it.
La Confitería is a great little bar near ParaLel station. Is a converted confectioners (hence the name) and still has the shelves behind the bar, now filled with a rather large selection of gins and rums (and others)
