I was just discussing red wing (boots) and carhartt duck jackets and the like with a friend. He lives in brooklyn where every other guy is wearing handmade in america workwear and drinking craft ales.

we remembered the glorious golden days of our youth. When men were men, workwear was made out of polyester blends, and beer came in either pisswatery-light, or formaldehydey-malt-liquor varietals.

I got all nostalgic about my Carharrt duck jacket after a colleague asked me about it at our Xmas party and I realised I've now had it for 25 years since I was 16 and that pretty much everything thats ever happened in my life happened to me while I was wearing it. /csb
