  • You sound more like a Roll though.

I realise that if it doesn't come in an exclusive colourway, you're not interested. But please, humour us mere mortals for a while..

  • Fishbone - Sunless Saturday

I bought a Fishbone album on tape and it was utter shite, only liked Freddies Dead and there was a funny one about sunglasses.

Does this make me beyond hipster to not like them BEFORE they were famous?!

  • King Prawn were shit after Fried in London... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Bit cocky there, sailor. no?.

never really payed much attention, but every time I've met babar he has made me smile from ear to ear.

    Bit cocky there, sailor. no?.

    all day, come at me.

  • Barring a few stinkers, the first three Foo Fighters are brilliant.

  • never really payed much attention, but every time I've met babar he has made me smile from ear to ear.

I was kidding, KP were an ace band and they were nice lads too. We supported them a few times. I remember Devil Hands telling me about how they lost out on a major label signing to Spunge, who were dreadful. They were pretty jaded by that point and had been going at it for donkey's years, and broke up not long after. Shame. Surrender to the Blender still kicks arse.

I've not really listened to much of Babar's solo stuff, is it any good? I remember it seeming like he was quite high maintenance for the others! You know, what with him being fucking mental! He made me want to get a Steinberger bass.

  • were never going to agree on any of this shit, because were all hip as fuck. Our only hope is to find people hipper than us to mock, before we are forced to look at ourselves!

    quiiiickkk

hey man what band are you in? spunge were like the inbetweeners in band form. terrible.

  • it's turning into the "guilty pleasures" thread.

we're only minutes away from someone "admitting" to liking ELO or Graceland.

  • My brothers band supported [spunge] back in the day and reckoned they were twats.

Speak for yourself! Fuck all guilt here.

Wouldn't surprise me. Their most well known song is about kicking pigeons. I hate all that new-wave ska bollocks anyway.

ELO had it for like 5min.

  • Mr Blue Sky, Livin' Thing, Sweet Talkin' Woman, Turn To Stone and THAT'S IT.

    Woah there, sunshine.

    there's nothing wrong with ska-core.

  • The worst thing ever is US ska-punk, worse than the Rwandan genocide.

  • ^ Bunch of know-nuthins... But US ska-punk is total shite...

...i like ELO, i also like the paul simon album 'graceland'

    you mad bro?

  • It's a fine line. Bosstones had it, Less Than Jake and all that horn-tootin' piss-splash didn't.

  • sumo and I's couple blog

Ha. Personal pronoun couple stalking continues. :)

Unfortunately, in this case, 'sumo and I' is wrong. :O

The option that should be correct ('sumo's and my couple blog') feels wrong, too, and it seems like another case where there is no option for expressing this in English but to go to some acrobatics to circumvent the problem: 'The couple blog that sumo and I might write ...', 'the couple blog from sumo and me ...', 'the couple blog that is sumo's and mine', etc.

    #grammaristhenewhipsterism

  • Why oh why is there not an 'I Bin Schicked' thread?

I was only being superprecise about what I like, like.

  • If all else fails, you could always say 'our blog'. It might even reinforce that couple spirit. :)

  • ...i like ELO, i also like the paul simon album 'graceland'

    you mad bro?

Haha. No! Everyone's getting a bit defensive! I absolutely love ELO and Paul Simon. Was just saying, the hipster thing's got a bit off track again.

p.s. that's why i put the word "admitting" in quotes. The whole guilty pleasures thing has always been anathema to me. None of my musical pleasures are guilty.

  • "......come back on ELO and play one more song!"
