  • You could also try switching to the beta track of Chrome, you tend to get bug fixes quicker that way. I found it to be generally stable and usable.

  • Would it be possible to remove the pre-selection of "I approve" from the post comment?

Once again, I've repped someone I meant to neg.

  • I've done the opposite.
    prefer the default on approve
    better karma

  • ^ repped (by accident)

  • I've lost the quick reply function on the forum. Maybe just my mobile browser, but never had the problem before.

  • Have you accidentally collapsed the box? (like, is the grey "quick reply" header strip still there just with no text input box underneath it?)

  • It has a +/- button at the right of the grey bar (I assume you can see the grey bar...) etc.

    Yeah, what she said^

  • Yes. Yes I had. Thanks!

  • Is it just me that's been getting sluggish pages, 504s and double posts for the last few weeks? Unusable at times...

  • Not just you.

Unsure what it is, nothing has changed and this has been plaguing us for a week.

All machines are healthy, but every now and then there are hints that the network the machines are on is having issues. One of the web servers will suddenly ping me an email saying it can't reach the database. By the time I've logged in it's fine.

Very hard to diagnose (given we're on virtual machines within a datacenter operated by someone else), and lack of consistency makes it hard to raise a support ticket and point at something and say "That!".

Kinda waiting for something to give and the issue to be more obvious.

  • Cheers, boss...

  • lots of "sorry server busy right now" tonight..?

  • I keep getting logged out, and having to log back in again, even though i ticked the 'remember me' box. Just me?

  • Are you logged in via your porn window by mistake?

  • no, but I think it's 1password logging me in via the form top right rather than the big one in the middle, and the tickbox at the top isn't ticked.

  • It did it to me yesterday, but only once.

  • Cheers,
I hope this is the right place to ask this.

You know how you can 'scale' the content displayed by your browser window,
with Windows / Firefox you'd press [Ctrl] and [+] / [-] at the same time.
The thing is, I get LFGSS displayed one step above 'normal', until I manually 'scale down'.
It's hardly noticeable, as the text looks 'right' / 'crisp', but you notice photos (which are scaled up as well) being not as sharp as at the correct setting.

So am I doing something wrong / how do I fix this?
    Only experience this on LFGSS..

  • There is a site wide setting that you can access by clicking on the four 'A's on the RHS of any page, might be to do with that?

  • The four A's only change font size, images stay the same.

The issue I'm having is that everytime I log-in to LFGSS, everything is scaled up a bit,
so an image that is 500px wide is displayed 545px wide.
Other webpages display it correctly, 500px wide.
I can scale down LFGSS's content by pressing [ctrl] and [-], but when I log out and back in again, it's back to the enlarged state.

  • Is there a way to click through to a thread such that it auto jumps to the first unread post? I have used this feature on other forums and find it pretty useful, especially for threads I like to keep up to date with.

  • Clicking on the thread title should do that already, I believe (i.e. not clicking on the page numbers)

  • Thanks! Can't believe I hadn't tried this, always middle clicked on the last page/page number.

  • It's probably because you were looking for the teeny tiny little arrow icon that this software uses by default to jump to the last unread post. I prefer it this way but if you're used to the usual way then you wouldn't really know to try it!

  • I agree this way is better, but as you say am accustomed to middle clicking on a small arrow, hence in the absence of that reverted to clicking on the last page, rather than thread title, which I presumed would take me to the first page.

  • I'm getting some pop ups from the forum, but also elsewhere on the web. i'm using firefox on a macbook running mavericks. do i just need to delete then reinstall my browser?
