  • Of course

  • Good stuff. My useful tags are useful.

  • The football thread is already full and Pisti has used all of his allocation. Can we buy more?

  • Unfortunately, that has a side effect... it freezes the tags as they are unless someone chooses to

Which means that those who got in quickly now own tagging rights to the football thread.

  • A good move would have been to tag 1,2,3,4,5,6.....48, 49, 50 and then replace as and when the desire arose.

    Oh the missed opportunity.

  • Thanks for the tags!

Forum looks nang on iPad. Love it! Might start cycling again.

  • Might even search for Margaret Thatcher's penis today.

  • Kris, it has returned but without the apostrophe. I blame Meryl Streep.

  • Well, if we have Earls Court and Kings Road then we can have Margaret Thatchers Penis as well.

  • But where would it go?

    Mornington Crescent thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • still want the "hover over see who wrote" thingie

  • It's hippy.

  • True.

  • "31trum's a wanker" is definitely mine :)

  • ha! thought so

  • still want the "hover over see who wrote" thingie

You're not going to get it. The way that tags are implemented in vBulletin mean that it's not possible without a not insignificant effort.

  • lazy bollox!

    :)

  • Charming.

  • The football thread is already full and Pisti has used all of his allocation. Can we buy more?

    No.

I promised tags would come back, and this is the bastardised way in which they'll exist.

I won't promise tags will stay. Depends on how they get used. If it's just to wind people up, troll and deliver digs, then I'm extremely likely to just say it's not worth the effort and disable them for good.

A shame that a minority will ruin it for the majority.

  • Every user has the ability to write a tag. How about adding the ability to delete also?

Peer moderation it's called isn't it?

  • Yeah, good idea. Except... that's not how vBulletin works.

  • I suspect that peer moderation would just end in tag-warfare, with users deleting and replacing tags just to keep their tags there.

Maybe an upvote-downvote system? except that I suspect that would be too difficult to implement, and you'd have to think about how new tags with no votes would get there until they had enough votes

Tags are a tricky one, nice idea, but potentially impractial and difficult to manage

  • Yeah, good idea. Except... that's not how vBulletin works.

Ok. PM me if you want more unworkable ideas, I have plenty.

    :D

  • New design looks good, and is much clearer on my phone, however when i try and view the site using Opera on Windows 7 i get this:

Error 403 This user-agent (web browser) is blocked from the site. Please access the site using a different browser if you believe that this is a mistake.

    Guru Meditation:

    Varnish cache server

same response on different IP (neighbour's wifi)
works fine with Internet Explorer from the same computer.

Has something changed on lfgss, or have i broken my own computer somehow?

  • Interesting. Thanks for letting me know.
