  • Hmm, not so clever that you can include different scaled text in the post. But I suppose I'll let you off this time.

    You mean can't?

Yeah... but you should see what happens on forums in which you can.

People who sell stuff go crazy putting things in the largest font size, bolded, and in ALL CAPS.

  • Can we have a one-click "New Posts" button top left like days of old?

We do have one below threads
    ................................here

  • All caps isn't so bad:

  • I am at home now, and on the iPad the new change looks great. Because you have left the font as sans-serif the iPad renders it in crisp, beautifully hinted Helvetica, and it looks lovely.
Still bumped the font size down though. Thanks for putting that in.

Incidentally a lot of the research done on this subject was done by and for Margaret Calvert when she redesigned the road signs, and created new fonts for them, designed to be easily read at high speeds.

  • Someone said COMIC SANS.

Can you make that an option?

  • Great improvements going on. Nice work.

Would setting a maximum line length be possible, or would it cause chaos?

It currently expands as the browser window does, which is fine but means a 20+ word length lines what I get when I resize the browser window to the smallest size to practically work with the User CP page (and it's columns).

I'm using the site with (something like) 9 or 10 pt text going on. I'm on Mac OS10.7.3 and Chrome.

I'm worried this didn't get read... because of the line length.

  • Resize your browser window ;)

  • Someone said COMIC SANS.

Can you make that an option?

    It is an option.

Go into your browser settings, and change the font for sans-serif to comic sans.

  • While we are making this all touchscreen and mobile friendly, can you remove the links from "started by" and the following username on thread listing pages? I am forever hitting a user profile when I meant to tap the thread title

  • I would never change my browser settings. I never have.

You've got a touch screen... zoom in.

  • Resize your browser window ;)

    I know.

But that breaks the User CP, New Posts, and Todays Posts pages.

  • Who can tell that I'm now getting tired ;)

  • A good days work though.

The forum is a better looking place today.

  • It should all be sans-serif.

I'm using some CSS that says: whatever the page looks like, that's what the font in the text box should look like.

What browser and OS are you on? Internet Explorer?

On my Mac at work I'm using Firefox 10 on Lion. I'm getting Times New Roman as that is my serif font by default.

At home it's fine using Safari on Snow Leopard. It's displaying san serif all over.

  • Yeah, just got my Mac installed in Virtual Box... I can see sans-serif.

    This x2

  • Yeah, just got my Mac installed in Virtual Box... I can see sans-serif.

The was a Times New Roman before, but it's gone now (at least in Safari).

  • Firefox shows TNR, though (Firefox 8, OSX Lion)

  • Firefox in Linux is showing a serif font. This looks like a Firefox bug... it works everywhere else.

  • Yeah, definitely a Firefox thing!

  • Wow, busy day. Time to hit the rowing machine!

I'm frequently hitting the unsubscribe link, which is quite annoying. Especially when I'm too slow to see what I just unsubscribed from.

    pretty much this, everyday.

keeps my subscribed threads from going over a thousand at least

  • I like it, big fonts an' all.
