The fonts previously used were (in this order, depending on whether they are on your computer):

tahoma, verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif

Now the forum is just:

sans-serif

Your browser determines what will be used... look in the options within your browser.

On Mac the default will be Helvetica, on Android it will be Roboto, on Ubuntu it will be Ubuntu, on Windows it might be Arial, it might be Verdana... I can't remember.

It's how big the base metric for a font should be.
Everything should be proportional from that and commonly accepted wisdom says 80% is the most readable size for large areas of text
