  • so who's going to this then?

not many I'm guessing, Bill you'll be out in the far north east grovelling on the clubrun

  • any found a reliable (free) place to watch online

not in london to watch at cafe

  • there will be a few westies there - fatboy ralph, big daddy wayne, rickymundo, hippy, Mouse

  • I may see you there, then.

  • i'll tell my butler to put another whisky tumbler in the hamper

  • how very kind, sir.

  • I'm going. Few laps of RP in the morning, then maybe ride off a few kerbs on the way home to get in the mood. Should be excellent.

  • i'll throw some mud and gravel at you on lower richmond road if that helps get you in the mood for PR

  • I'll empty my water bottle over the cobbles on the corner by the richmond gate roundabout and you can ride over them

  • Thanks guys. Can someone also break loads of bottles at random intervals so I get plenty of punctures.

  • more news... here's the order of the team cars after a lottery (usually this order is decided by the protour ranking of the teams but since P-R is not a protour race this year, it was decided by lottery):

    • Saunier Duval
    • Tinkoff
    • Française des Jeux
    • Barloworld
    • Quick.Step
    • Slipstream
    • Cofidis
    • CSC
    • Cycle Collstrop
    • Agritubel
    • Milram
    • Crédit Agricole
    • Caisse d'Epargne
    • Rabobank
    • Euskaltel
    • Bouygues Telecom
    • AG2R
    • Gerolsteiner
    • Lampre
    • Landbouwkrediet
    • Liquigas
    • Silence-Lotto
    • Skil
    • High Road
    • Topsport Vlaanderen
So basically, in case of a puncture, George Hincapie (24) and Leif Hoste (22) are potentially fucked as it might take minutes for the team cars to get to them.
  • And for those who understand dutch/flemish, here's a page with a video about the specially developped paris-roubaix bike of the Silence-Lotto team. It 's basically a cross between a cyclocross bike and a road bike. Cross brakes in the rear, road brake in the front, longer wheelbase (+3cm) for a more comfortable ride over the cobblestones, of course the higher BB height of a cross bike which allows pedalling in the corners, a road fork and road fork angle for the same aggressive steering feel of a road bike and last but not least specially developped 25mm Vredenstein tubes.

which all goes to show how obsessed belgian teams are about P-R.

  • or more readable for the less flandrian inclined.

    Thanks!
Interesting to see that they are all kind of thinking along the same route.
Now imagine a rider on a 'standard' bike winning this year ;)

  • I'll empty my water bottle over the cobbles on the corner by the richmond gate roundabout and you can ride over them

and i'll make a really dull 2 hour documentary about it

  • Is it on the telly box today? Muchos.

  • depends which telly box you're watching.

    eurosport apparently

  • Eurosport 3.30 pm , ideal.

sputnik one on there is working for me, shame i dont understand comentry

  • Yeah, I'm watching Sputnik too:
    mms://80.160.76.117/tv2sputnik3

The quality is good enough to go onto a large widescreen telly.
Haven't found an English audio feed though.

  • I thought you'd be at the Rapha thing? I was going but 1) knackered 2) Friend's birthday bbq or something is on.

  • Nah, I was thinking about it... but it would be crammed and I'm a bit anti-social at times.

  • vb i watched that, and then went back to check eurosport live audio feed again
working but slightly out from the video

  • If any one cares - and I'm allowed to post this (vb?) - there is a torrent on the PB right now with A Sunday in Hell, Hell on Wheels, and Overcoming. Pretty sweet I thinks.
