nimhbus arrghh..i really fucking hate the laughing rabbit-man-creature on the bike. It's a a bit heavy metal, a bit like we think we are all , like, mental, and we're out of control and take no prisoners and HAH HAHAHHA aren't we cool, when actually - we're just some blokes in london who ride bikes with one gear.
I vote for the Airfix kit, it's pure class, and really well executed, and will look great on black. it also says alot more about the fact that the building of bikes is a key part of the forum.
not being mental man-rabbit creatures.
+1
Also I think LFGSS should just be in small text to the bottom right of the airfix model. So far that is the only shirt I'd want to buy. In dark brown with a yellow print please!

photoben I really like wheel's interpertation. Plus the animal skull rider looks sweet. Perhaps we should have two designs as it it becoming clear we aren't all going to settle on just one design, and the main aim is to sell and many T-shirts as poss right?
vic
Matt's flyer for the party hasn't yet been submitted as a t-shirt design (apart from wheels using the rabbit man on his own design) - no one seems to have picked up on that....None of what I have done are my 'designs', just illustrations of what folk are talking about using other people's work, I think they are all shit except for one or two and I am far too cool to wear a t-shirt telling people that a bike forum is a year old and that I have only one gear on my bike, I usually ride in a Gortex™ tuxedo anyhow.

i like mouse' pub sketch and the lfgss 1y1g in wild-westy like font. also like the donny darko cyclist under lfgss. then the bleeding crank would look great for bottom left back print - visible with bag on - lfgss.com on crank arm. but if have to vote for one, it'll be the the airfix. love the clean lines. not a fan of the offending ones...already enough negativity around. def not a fan off the big-font-prints-80's-choose-life-wham-shoulder pad-style. fckn 80s, looked so wrong not long ago...and it would stay that way!!
surprised the photographers havent tried to put any entries in. some fisheye pix (slamm's) or photoben's bird's eye pix would look cool as b/w or stylised or silhouette

i also like mouse's sketch, and wheels' latest one, not too keen on rock'n'roll type black t-shirts with big in your face type images though.

+1. Seriously - whilst i appreciate it's well-drawn, it's pretty much just a representation of the Brick Lane hipster side of LFGSS. I'd actually be too embarrassed to wear it, but the airfix one is subtle enough that my non-cycling mates won't call me a sad cunt for wearing it.

It's democratic, we'll all get a vote. I just think it's great how much effort people have gone to and the quality of the work produced.
However, before voting I would like people to remember to judge the idea not the execution - there is a mixed level of abilities on photochop etc. which means that not such a great idea finished to a higher level will look better than a really great idea not particularly well art directed.
e.g. my CBGB idea is not much of an idea other than it's an iconic white on black t shirt and the random collection of letters makes it a really 'in' thing for forumengers. The idea that LFGSS is a virtual John Snow pub (my line drawing) is a more interesting idea, just not finished to a level where you can immediately picture the final t-shirt. Same with Nimbhuses medal, Dale's scrawl (I hope!), etc. etc.

Fuck that, I go visceral, I want a t shirt to look good, not win over some wry laughter from a creative director.
Let the killing begin ! ;P

And I'm sure there was a thread about the original spokecard design it on FGG. It's a witty design that anyone who's ever tinkered with a fixed wheel bike can appreciate.
A cursory search of google images brings up loads of t-shirts with bikes, cogs and mutants and monsters riding bikes.

Couldn't we have TWO designs? e.g. One with rabbit skull rider, one with the airfix kit. Then everyones happy. It worked for the spokecard.
Actually I want wheels "Your bike is shit". I'm sure there would be a few takers for that on here.

If the final votes (when we start voting, which we haven't) are split evenly amongst two designs and there are enough people into buying shirts... then yeah.
But if there is one clear winner, and not enough of a market... then no.
agreed. a lot of people won't get the reference, either.
Agreed also.
I don't think anyone outside of the forum would get '1 year, 1 gear' - and if they did they would not be interested in what it is saying, those with a passing interest in bikes would most probably think you are loudly and proudly proclaiming that you have ridden fixed/ss for a whole year.
well, ok, but at least ' 1 Year 1 Gear' is self referential at least - it means something about the forum and us lot and what we're doing. using CBGB font is just meaningless appropriation.
Very true !
I am no fan of technical accuracy over aesthetics, but your point is valid.
