My best mate got smashed off his bike outside the JB's last THursday night. Fucking cabbie pulled right into him. He's ok, bruised and cut up a bit. Whats more he was wearing my Rapha PS city jacket. I'm amazed at the minimal damage a shattered car window can do to that thing, and the amount of protection it offered his arm. Don't think I'm quite ready to revisit JB yet... anbd forthat reason. I'm out

I'm provisionally in for tonight. I'll probably be arriving on foot, though. :)
Sorry to hear about your mate, Sweaty. Did the cab driver come out of Garnham Street? Garnham Street/Lawrence Buildings is a notorious rat-run which will hopefully be tackled if and when the Stoke Newington one-way gyratory is returned to two-way.

No, bollocks, of course I'm not in--meeting tonight. D'oh. Next week!
-
• #8963
Actually I am feeling a bit ill today, so the idea of booze and cigars doesn't appeal anyway.
Next week though for certain.
I'll update the thread later -

I'm out at the moment. Waiting for mobile to be delivered then off to hopefully view a bike that fits me.
The bike stands are now in at the butchers...
About bloody time!!! Really looking forward to going there.

No he didn't mate. He was parked on the yellows outside the pub and just turned left into him whilst pulling out into traffic. I think thats why he got away so lightly. I went radge

This is Joe, me and my bike have moved to London about a week ago and stay for three months.
I'm looking forward to ride finally with other people... so is there a compass next Wed?!

Early bump--who's in for the Jolly Butchers this week, then?
Thread title change?
-
• #8968
Yes!
Good plan Oliver. (vegans Love the Butcher I'm told:)
I'm up for that. -
• #8969
Well, the manager goes to some considerable effort to source vegan beers, e.g. cloudy ales. :)
If people are in favour of the change of venue, should we lay on a Compass Ride, too? I might be able to go down to Traffic Square.

Which Jolly Butchers are you talking about?
-
• #8972
I know it is in Hackney but I thought N16 was North London?
It is great for me just a wander up the Road but it is difficult to have a conversation there with all Yuppies and Shoreditch Hipsters talking at the top of there voices.

• #8973
Yeah, let's do it!
Easts is the new Norths

• #8974
Pffffft

JCGarcia will be able to keep us a table.
Surely we can out-shout the Hackney Hipsters
JC keeps the best cellar in East London
Sorry, lady who wanted bike didn't phone so couldn't come out to play. Doubtful for next week too. You can all have a boys night out instead.
