  • No-one at Easts is lazy. They're all dead.

Don't die just yet... I'm due to join you next Wednesday, although judging by the current state of affairs I'll probably be without wheels. (Is that allowed?)

  • You must bring wheels with you, even if its without a frame

  • today i went past the morgan arms e3

VERY NICE. Great food (but limited choice), good beer. Gastro pub - pricey. Like, really not cheap..

and then the coborn arms e3.

    possibilities.

Decent beer, more affordable. Shit food, shit choice of food.

Drinking in the coborn then moving to the morgan later to eat (as they're 200m away from each other) entirely works.

  • It's all about the Britannia for tonight. Not looking that sunny right now, so it's a good job it's such a big pub inside.

  • It's brightening up.
could be outside weather after all :-)

I've been in the Coborn Arms a few times. I didn't think much of it though. It sold reasonable beer, but had no atmosphere.
I've not tried the Morgan Arms. Limited bike space but it might be worth a punt next week.

I'll also check out the Pennethorne. The only review I've seen was less than favourable.

  • see you all later at the britannia

  • And I'm baking crumble, both sweet and savoury.

  • It's pissing down now, so I'm guessing we'll be indoors.

I doubt they'll be happy about you bringing your own food.

  • The Morgan Arms is just down the road from me. Never been there, but when I moved into my house it had a bench from the pub in our garden.
Also never been to the Coborn Arms, but I don't like the road it's on.

    I'll claim its sommeone birthday.

  • Plan!

But wait! The sky has run out of water!
    The sun is coming out!

  • Reckon I'll pop along for a Pale Ale. What will the rain do???!!!?!!?!?!!!?!!

  • I don't even need to look out my window to know the weather, I'm getting a step by step commentary on here.

  • Pissing down now. I'm going to need a rain-free window of opportunity...

  • getting lighter...

  • stopped.

  • leaving now.

  • Get down here you weapons

  • Can't be bothered

  • Popping down shortly.

  • A lovely evening. By the end we were the only people in the pub. nice.

On the way home I decided it looked nice and so next week we will be at The Hemingway on Victoria Park Rd.

Now, to explain this chairman business. This is something I hope will keep going as it is way cool. There was a Monopoly 'chance' card on the table which said "You have been elected Chairman of the board" I had the Chairman card and did not have to buy a drink almost all night.
Therefore to formalise this process, as outgoing chairman I establish the following rules.

    1. One person is the chairman. They have the Chairman card.
    2. Every time anyone buys a round, however small, they offer the chairman a drink.
    3. The chairman may refuse a drink, and they may of course buy a round of their own.
    4. The chairman's only duties are to hold the names-in-a-hat election for the next week's chairman.
    5. The sitting chairman may not put their own name in the hat. No person may be chairman for 2 weeks in a row.
    6. The punishment for buying a round that did not include the chairman is a raised eyebrow.
    7. two names should be drawn - chairman and vice chairman. In the event of the chairman being indisposed the vice chairman should take their place.

    I will laminate the card.
Next week's chairman is Betty, with Eggpie as vice chairman.

  • this shits getting serious.

  • also it's The Hemingway, not the Hemmingway.

  • I feel suitably chastised.
I will edit the post later when I am meant to be doing some work.

    1. what if you don't like the chairman?
    2. what if you can afford to buy anyone else a drink?
    3. would'nt this exclude others who aren't interested in playing but just wished to hang out?

i don't mean to ruin the ideas or proceedings but just wondering
