someone talk to the manager/owner and try and get us a food deal there. Only if we're going there more often of course.
I was going to suggest the Captain Kidd in Wapping, it's a Sam Smiths pub, therefore very cheep, and all the food is under £6. But I waited for 10 minutes at the bar today before they told me they didn't serve people in top without sleeves, so I'm less inclined to give them any more business. -

No, Niall likes it because it has 'Brit' in the pub name.

Can you change the thread title or make it a little more obvious...?
I cycled past slowly the last two weeks wondering where the fuck every one was?
-

Its been changing for every tour night venue.

The Captain Kidd's not a bad pub. Would they let us take bikes through and out the back? I'm not worried about locking my beater up out front but having seen some of your bikes last week I'm guessing you might not all be down with that...

Captain Kidd was used for a vaguely impromptu beers last year actually, they were fine with bikes being put out the back, yea.
it was also close to my old flat, we used to pop in there for a sunday night 'last drink of the weekend', and i would never make any effort to be smart, so i don't know where the 'no sleeves, no service' line comes from?

Thread title gets changed to show the current venue.
Sometimes it does take a few days before Hippy or Velocio do it mind you. Also the first post is changed, with google maps link etc.

Too lazy/busy to check out the other pubs on my list :-)
Mind you everyone liked it so why not give it a second week? -

i spoke with paula.
they will have two ales on in addition to the pale ale. last night it was wandle and ipa.
the food they are going to think about. but i dont think they want to take their offer to a cut price standard. i will let you know when i hear back.

They obviously don't want to make a loss, but something simple like burgers or pizza will pretty much guarantee that they'll have lots of custom and will sell lots of beer.

Does not compute in the brave new world of east end semi-gastro pubs. A decent burger wouldn't go amiss though. The steak sandwich was very Rapha.*
- i.e., nice but pricey

Am I the only one who found this place a bit rub? not like it's a terrible place, but I'm sure there are better.
It was expensive, the guy at the bar couldn't be bothered to tell me what wines he had (there was no wine list), and they locked the gate so no-one could get in or out except by going through the bar, and the food was decidedly non gastro, it was just pub food without a lot of choice.

thanks baba...I will be on the way home laden with nice things so will see you there...I agree this is quite nice since it's had the refurb, and the garden is nice too.
As long as they have such tasty chips we'll be fine..;D

Coming from the AV background (at least in the UK) there's one dish which feeds all and costs feck all to make. Lasagne.
They obviously don't want to make a loss, but something simple like burgers or pizza will pretty much guarantee that they'll have lots of custom and will sell lots of beer.

i was not overly impressed with the bar staff.
but i did like that the bikes were safe.
i think we should keep moving until it goes cold and then make a decision.

Is it bad form to keep plugging my threads?
http://www.lfgss.com/thread50725.html
BMX frame and lots of BMX parts for sale with delivery at tomorrows easts definitely possible - I am coming. Includes several freecycles - incl saddle, working but not brilliant) BMX / MTB headset. Also have a couple of worn but useable MTB tyres to freecycle - one for dirt, one 'all-round' like you see on the front of BMXs quite often (but MTB size).
Jeez ...
