  • Could you update us on if the washing machine mat works? If so I'll grab one as I think I'm annoying my downstairs neighbour...

Also what size are you going for? Presumably you just need to have it under the rear wheel?

  • I use that interlocking grey gym matting. But it was more to keep the sweat off the ground that noise reduction.

  • I bought a cheap rug off amazon for sweat catching. Also there was one time when I put some oil on the chain and didn't rub enough off before using the turbo so it sprayed a greasy line on the carpet, I've had a rug under it since.

  • I also have a smaller carpety mat under the drivetrain. The gym tiles extend all around the area.

  • I got a 1o quid BKool trainer mat. Easier to wipe clean than the floor (well, I can hose it off) and it absorbs a bit of noise. But I'm in a garage so less concerned about noise then when I had it in flats.

  • Interlocking mat from costco (£12 for 9 squares of it) is the best cheaper one I've come across. All hardware shops (BnQ/wilko/your local) ones are way thinner and disintegrate after mild use. Should have noted the name of the costco one, feel like it was an American brand.

  • Got mine off amazon I think. It's maybe 1cm thick and pretty durable.

  • Another session aborted. Fucking bag of dicks.

No commuting, no audax, no racing and now I can't even get through the sessions that I was on top of. Cunting planet of shit.

  • I know you are angry but this is funny to read

  • Time to take up Zwift racing

  • Have some free months for TrainerRoad going.
You can now play with the plan builder to get a sense of what's behin the pay wall.

  • Anyone use bkool app? Any good or Zwift where it’s at??
Also do you use these in ERG mode?
I do t really want to change gears...

  • Had a look at trainers on Wiggle/CRC earlier. Unsurprisingly, there's not many left

  • Anyone use bkool app?

I used it for a little while during a free trial. I honestly can't remember anything about it that stood out as good or bad

If you like sim mode then do Zwift. If you want to stick with erg, use TrainerRoad

I like to switch between the 2 and have found Rouvy to be a nice balance

  • I have a dumb mag trainer someone can have for free if they wanna stay in shape...

  • Fuming. Went to pub a licked all the other patrons to calm down.

  • Initially I'd have said, "fuck Zwift, it never ran properly on my PC" but now I say "fuck Zwift for their fucking ads in every cycling video and tv broadcast"

  • I feel Trainerroad has better support for the different trainers out there. zwift for android was a total shit show, and since I Linux or Android, I cancelled my subscription with them.

  • I had a bkool trainer and found the software a bit crap to be honest. Buggy and at times a bit hard to connect.

  • 5 1/2 weeks since stopping with my head. Slowly getting into it again. This is my current set up, fully catering for the broken neck situation by letting me hold on to the dumb bell handles screwed into the side of the squat rack, thus enabling me to use the trainer . Managed a ramp test and lost 20% on my FTP pre-accident :(

  • Yeah but you have 100% of your aliveness.

  • True that!

I'll be forced to stick to indoor training for at least another 6 weeks ... Two days till the brace comes off. Hope to hit a good block of base training, to be in decent condition for resuming outdoor activities ... if the virus permits, that is.

  • If it's any consolation, I don't think I've ever got that metric as high as 69.

  • I was 4 weeks away from Peaks Challenge Falls Creek when I got decked. One year of training for it in the bank pretty much, probably close to 14000km. Shape of my life. By all accounts the event was super miserable, rain for a solid 4 hours and temps close to freezing on top of the passes. Still, wish I'd been there.

  • Can a smart trainer, say Kickr Core, still provide resistance if mains power is not available?
