That was all pretty extensively covered under "Project No-Forking Good". At moderate speed it will probably be fine, the problem will occur when the large moment of inertia about the steering axis couples with the high compliance of a big low pressure tyre to give a low shimmy frequency, one which will be excited at speeds well below the Official Fred Woohoo Speed of 46mph.

I agree that all wooden bikes are anti, but that's the best I've seen.

Whether or not this is an efficient coupling system I don't know.

I don't trust those couplers but other than that it looks to be alright for a polo steed
