  • da gold don't match!

  • I much prefer how it look before he went and ruin it a tad.

it's the headset, stem and riser that made the whole thing look increasingly odd.

  • Double denim CAN work if it's on the right fella with the correct denim

    i.e. Chuck Norris

  • You are almost all wrong.. except for the Velocity-rim and the weird geometry that bike is not antiporn.

    • Color is a matter of personal preference.
    • Half bartape, well.. He could be riding it in the drops all the time.
    • Disc's are totally p0rn
    • About the tyres colors we can agree about the white.. the rear is probably a tubular tyre, since that is a track disc-wheel.
    • Nothings wrong with painted hubs and rims
    • Nothings wrong with riding a trackbike with no brakes on the road, if you can handle it

    its almost all personal preference.

  • what the fuck has hoy got to do with BMX???

He was a top UK racer in his teens.

But that bike he's selling is an abomination. A heavy piece of junk for chavs to practice skids on.

  • Grips, DV sticker, quick release seat clamps are three things I would change.

I'm also not a fan of gold, but if I was trying to match, I'd powder coat the pedals (and, as I said, do something about the clamp).

nah, its simply the aerospoke + curved fork combo that never ever works.

Raced a lot when he was a kid... he was good to...

is it any worse than those full suspension jobbies that Halfraud sell? at least BMX are fun little thing as oppose to heavy full-sus in London.

  • Not a problem with it being a Langster.

  • the tt protector and spok are just awful awful awful

  • Re - Re - Post!

  • what the fuck has hoy got to do with BMX???

Before track cycling, Hoy raced BMX between the ages of 7 and 14 and was ranked second in Britain, fifth in Europe and ninth in the world. He received sponsorship from Slazenger and Kwik-Fit and was competing in Europe and the US. Hoy also rowed for the Scottish junior team, coming second in the 1993 British championship with Grant Florence in the coxless pairs. He played rugby as part of his school's team.[4]

Which could lead to Britain's next set of world class bmx and track racers..

Would you prefer them to be chroming and ram raiding your local store using your neighbors stolen car?

  • bikes like that put kids off cycling for life.

theyll be heavy, clumsy & poorly fitting for kids.

And check those front fork ends and 'trick nuts' on the back, all to go with the peng tastic paintjob.

Chris' es shoes just go to show the lack of taste which may be to blame.

Get a grip. Can you imagine any 10 year caring about the look of fork ends or 'trick nuts' and whether they are up to your standards of what a BMX should be. I take it you've ridden one? Maybe it's not a great bike and it's possibly overpriced, but at least it's not some £99 full sus piece of shit from halfords. I hardly think it's bad enough to put kids off cycling. I'm with Hippy on this one (assuming he wasn't being sarcastic).

Kids couldn't give a fuck about ultimate performance or authenticity, they want to impress their mates, and what could be more impressive to a 7-15 year old than a bike endorsed by an Olympic gold medal winning ex-BMXer. Who gives a fuck, if it gets kids riding. The BMX I grew up riding was much much worse than that one and I was never put off.

My brother just got my nephew a cheap BMX for Christmas (the kind most of you hardcore would laugh at) and he loves it. He's been on the phone to me everyday since Christmas day, wanting to go out for a ride. Kids don't care about retro cool, they just want to have fun.

Sometimes we need to get our heads out of our NJS arses and realise where we started. I'll bet your first bike was worse than that Raleigh Chris is putting his name to.

  • It's about 50 times better than the BMX I grew up with, and about 50,000 times better than the one I had for a while before that, and I'm not on this forum because I like rollerblades.

  • Own up, who's is this then? How to kill one of the best ever frames by being a trendy twat with too much money than sense

    Complete muggins!
    All the gear, no idea!
Sherriff Stars on the street, yeah good idea!?! AND laced to fuckin Velocitys!?
Even has one of those Stussy/Brooks saddles, yeah, well worth the £350!?

  • "A year in the making. Thanks to the guys at Brick Lane Bikes for all the help and patience on this build. See you at Tony's."

it's not a bad looking bike, expensive as fuck thought with poorly chosen hubs (why couldn't he go for Phil?) but that it really.

can't be as worse as the carbon fibre BMC track bike that got destroyed within a day of riding it!

  • The bike and the owner is VERY confused

  • how did you come to the conclusion that the owner is very confused? I can't see anything that indicated that in the link.

  • not sure if you've all seen this, apologies if its a repost....

    **Carbon Fiber Collapsible
    **

  • Graham, I really like that bike!? I agree that sheriff hubs might not be a great idea as apparently they break easily, and that that saddle may have cost the owner a few bob but the bicycle looks brilliant in my opinion. And while we're on it, aren't you the one riding on the road with a Corima carbon-fibre track wheelset covered in Stussy stickers???

fair enough, just goes to show what i know, thanks for the info! maybe i should do some homework before swearing like a navvy.

    Are you serious?

"Yeah mate, I wanna build a bike with all the coolest, trendiest bits on it, cost ain't an issue"
"OK, well first off all get yourself a £1,500 frame that you can cycle round the streets of London at 3mph so everyone can stare at you, then you need the wheels. I suggest you buys some £250 track hubs that'll shatter if you you go up and down a curb on, while you're at it, lace them to some heavy as fuck shit rims - Velocitys should do it, all the cool kats roll with 'em"
    "Great mate, sold!"
"To top it off though, stick a trendy saddle on it, ltd edition so you can be really one step ahead! £350 but they only made 150 so it doesn't matter about cost
"Wow mate, you know your shit!"
    "Thanks, I know"
    "How long will it take?"
    "Oh, only about a year...."
    "Oh........"
