Are the bars on the Crosscheck a pair of On One Fleegles? I've been wanting to try out a pair of them on my ss mtb but I'm afraid it will make the bike feel more like a town bike.. Anyone got experience with them?
Yeah. I have Fleagle Pros, initially uncut, now cut to about 50cm(ish?)
If your going from risers to Fleegles on a mtb they'll be slightly lower and with more sweep. They're 0 rise because they're meant for 29ers with hight front ends.
The sweep is really comfortable and good when your out of the saddle and pedalling. But I don't tend to do that on my mtb because I've got gears and I'll get better traction (and go quicker) If I do it seated. You'll probably like them for SS. The pay-off is the bars are not so good descending rocky steep stuff and when you've got your weight over the back and your covering a brake.
I took them off the mtb and tried them on my tarck bike for a laugh... and they're amazing. For me they work best set lower and on a shorter stem than I would with risers. A bit like racy, narrow 'tasche bars. Massive fun. Not as good a bullhorns in the hills, or for squeezing through gaps, but a brilliant compromise.

Hmm thanks. To get the bike running I installed a straight flat bar because that's what I had, but for XC riding I want them to be a bit higher. So I will need either a riser bar or a higher stem if I decide to go with the Fleegle. I like the look of the Fleegle but a tall stem would probably ruin it.. A pair of risers bay be the most sensible solution.

Because he can't be bothered to ride in an uncomfortable manner?

And the saddle/post, fuck it, its a shit build.

And the tyres are too big. So much so that the radius of the tyre is too flat for the seatpost cutout.
