Downtube kills it

I saw one in plain white (I think with subtle-ish italian highlights) and it was pure porn. The stickers are ugly, the down-tube is apparently more aero. Still other brands haven't bothered with it so maybe its not such a big deal in the wind tunnel.
I think those wheels are generic open mould though - seen others very similar under a range of brands.
Anyway - very nice in pure white. I'd ride it.

Downtube kills it
a bit too
for me but definitely would ride it to see how fast it is.

didn't

when i still worked in my lbs I had chop some for a customer, cursing him the whole time.
OK. I ralise it was'nt through forgetfulness. But to make any sense it should be flipped.I hope this chat, doesnt bring the chopped Cinelli Ram nightmares back.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
They're back.

sweet bars
i bet his hands are teardrop shaped for extra aero-ness -
• #14559
I tell myself they were made from a crashed pair of Rams.

so they're chopped AND unsafe?

That Wilier TT is fantastic BTW.
For those without access to a wind chamber. Heres a quick and dirty TT bike aerodynamics analysis. Compare the bike to a batmobile, the closer the match the more aero the TT bike FACT!

so they're chopped AND unsafe?
I figure a crashed pair of carbon bars would most likely crack at the lever clamp, as this is a likely impact point. Still might not be safe though.
Either way, I struggle to feel concern for the owners wellbeing, if I'm honest.
-
• #14563
Yeah but until you xray them you don't know if there's other cracks.
Fair point about the concern though, I feel the same way. -
• #14564
how is the lever attached to the bars? The clamp doesnt seem to go all the way around.
-
• #14565
Feck. Never noticed the lever before.
Its probably one of those special aero profile clamps for hipsters that run tops mounted brakes on their aero carbon race bars......
....or not

• #14566
Yeah but until you xray them you don't know if there's other cracks.
Fair point about the concern though, I feel the same way.If you chop carbon bars, that are'nt designed to be chopped (ie. have thin weight saving sections). Then you're a bit fecked anyway. At least, despite the lack of bar ends, the chance of apple coring are low, as the bar will likely colapse before cutting you.

That is such a shame...

There are some beasts on this thread!

so they're chopped AND unsafe?
Lets hope the owner gets cancer from inhaling carbon particles.
-
• #14571
Wishing cancer upon folks, always appropriate. Nice one.
-
• #14572
He chopped the bars, sounds like from the above that he might meet his death from this...
They're only a pair of fucking bars.
