Hey, thanks for the inauspicious fail ya'all have given my poor pink bikie.
It was custom built for me by Sam Whittingham, for Steelwool Bicycles, located in Ottawa Canada
As some of you have surmised, the bike IS all function. I use what's on there because i race it, and the stuff that is on there works.
The wheels are very popular with cross racers, they are very strong and very light. And they're ES's not SL.
The tires are a Michelin Mud on the front (legendary cross tire, now no longer made sadly, but much missed) and yes it is a godawful green, but it works really really well. The rear is a Hutchinson Bulldog, as fast rolling tire, and yep it's coloured too.
I also have Ergos on there because, as some of you have guessed, the bike is normally run geared, but I had it custom built for me. So I specified long horizontal dropouts so I can run fixed, or single speed as well as gears.
I only was doing the one race, the Single Speed CX nationals, so didn't see the need to change brake levers for one race. As to cross top levers, yep i use em, when racing hard it's nice to have options.
As to the colour, well I have always had a pink cross bike, the first one was a stock size and didn't fit so well, and now this one. What can I say? ya gotta ride fast if you have a pink bike right? So I do!Now you know, i certainly did not do it to try and look cool, i'm a 40 year old father of two...
And PS we also like fixed wheels at our shop!

That frame is a thing of beauty though.

Oh it was in anti-porn, but a lots of us debunked it as it's far from porn and actually have an intended purpose.
you didn't even need to defend it!

Thank God for the anti-porn skeptics.

Nope never said she was pretty! I know it's a funny looking bike, i'm a funny looking guy so we match! I call it my clown bike.
And not so much defending as simply pointing out it's purpose,
