There is actually two Brighton teams as Team Terminator is coming to play now!
And I think the gearing was bigger when Rob and Greg rode, makes a big difference to the time.
-
• #228
I think it has been throughly expressed that if people are dieing to spin, others will back out, good times or no, i think that the people who want to play are
Sam
MikeC
Somebodyevery one else has basically said not bothered, so how about that as the team and you can sort out who the reserve is.
this clarification was brought to you by chris crash.

The gearing was exactly the same for Rob and Greg, as for everyone else that night.

Well, it's a scientifically proven FACT that roller-racers race faster if lots of drunk people are screaming their name from a distance of not greater than 2 metres!
My contribution to this fine fine cycling event :)
I'm gonna be torn with who to cheer for/at.. what with all this forum splitting going on :)

If this is the way the team is now to be picked, then fair enough. Although I'm not very happy about it.
I'll just have to punch in a serious time on the have a go rollers so it's obvious that a mistake has been made in team selection ;0p
Sam. I didn't mean to cause any conflict when I posted up my times earlier in the week. Just that reading back through the whole thread it seemed as though most people weren't that fussed about racing or not. I would no way want to take the place of someone who really wanted it and has put in an effort to get things sorted. So sorry about that.
It's just the fact that for the first couple of weeks of trying to get a team together I was the only mug willing to be part of the team. Plus it took me a lot of sweat and tears to get a passout from the missus!!!
I think it's out of order if Sam isn't on the team (in light of his consistent enthusiasm, the travel/domestic logistics he's mentioned, and his early selection).
Yes I totally agree. Like I said from the beginning. I am up for doing this. But not at the expense of anyone else. If no this time I am sure there will be another chance soon.

Just call everyone who rides a useless donkey who should have known better.
Works for me!

I think MC Steve summed it up the other night at the beginning of the 3rd/4th place race:
"Alright you two, remember this is the 3rd/4th place race, so you're riding for nothing." :D

Mike, no problems mate :0)
I like the look of Chris's team line up. But who is going to make the official call on ths??
While I'm at it, does anyone know why they went from teams of 3 to 2.

Gah, I've been told tonight that I'm the leader... I don't want to be the leader. I make crap calls and am only good for the techie stuff.
I am happy with whatever team we put forward. Seriously. I want to see Sam ride, he pulled this together more than anyone else.
Chris's team line-up is good and I'll go with it... but as always, ONLY IF YOU ALL AGREE! So... make your fecking minds up ;)
As far as I'm concerned, the last list of people that you all agree on, goes.
So right now we have:
LFGSS Boys:
- Sam
- MikeC
- Somebody
And the Trixie Chics have totally sorted out the girls team behind the scenes and they are:
- Agata
- Stelle
- Vic
If the boys are all cool... we are set, done and dusted, let's move on and focus on getting lots of drunk bastards to be around and shout encouragement to keep your legs from turning to jelly too soon.
- Sam

cool. i'm also happy to race if needed (i'll be there anyway). came 4th at the rollapaluza thingo last week (although charlie was obviously quicker but didn't bother to race head to head rounds).
-
• #238
don't nick Rollapaluza riders or we'll sabotage the whole event!!!
-
• #239
yeah, who is mikec riding for?
AFAIK i'm not riding for rollapaluza? (i will be wearing the t-shirt though)
-
• #240
Maybe you're the reserve again??? Are you coming on Thursday?
It's enough to turn a man to poetry.
-
• #241
i'm the super-reserve. it's like the roller-racing version of a super-domestique (but i'm not fetching the drinks).
thursday.... hmm... dunno if thursday is a good idea... self-sabotage for saturday? you should be wrapping yourself in cotton wool!
-
• #242
Hopefully now it looks like I will be riding - or a reserve for this forum.
I would still like to come on Thursday to our get together though or am I now ex-communicated? -
• #243
@badtmy - I need to try something out, and hope to recover sensibly the next day. I'm getting some limited edition cotton wool from Rapha - it's from ethically managed cotton fields in the deep south, and comes in a raccoon-pelt musette with a quote from Greg Lemond embroidered with flamingo feather fibres.
@mikec - this has got nothing to do with Jimmy Somerville. You are merely discombobulated.

I am very cool with this line up. Cheers VB

(Venue change?)
-
• #246
Yup, it's in the other thread.
http://www.londonfgss.com/thread4579.htmlThere's a map there too. It's just up the road from the old venue, shouldn't be a problem.

• #247
anyone up for some 1000m or 2000m efforts?
-
• #248
No.
-
• #249
No.
marshmellow! :p -

Ha! Dale, not built for sprinting are ya?
Both regular roller racers...is the key phrase here......
