  • Smell the glove.

  • has anyone tried Mouse & de Lotz in Shacklewell Lane in Dalston area? any feedbacks?

  • Apparently following the guidelines for Camellias is reccomended for coffee, and also mine will cork it if outside in a frost.

  • Nipping to Ikea for coffee, they even do beans now.

  • ^ you have to roast them yourself though...

  • whole bean only.

they had to remove the ground coffee from the shelves when there was an unfortunate lawsuit over confusing trademarks because they called it gründr

  • I have a Porlex hand grinder for sale.

Used maybe 3 times in total since i got it in February but between work and a 5 month old baby I am hardly using my gaggia never mind finding time to grind my own beans for every cup!

It is basically as new (though I chucked the box when I moved house) so £25 please. I'm in West Norwood SE27 but would love the excuse to unpack my bike and come meet/deliver along the way.....

    sold pending payment to snottyotter

  • Will you post? You could unpack your bike to go to the post office.

  • No problem, shouldn't be more than a fiver.

Also I can walk to the PO #lazybastard.

PM me your details if you want it.

  • I'll have to move some money about but it should be OK, you alright to wait a few days?

  • Thanks to all above who made grindr suggestions...

    ?

  • He actually typed "grinder".

  • I'll have to move some money about but it should be OK, you alright to wait a few days?

No problem. Let me know in a few days if you change your mind.

  • Cheers.

  • Descaled the Gaggia at work today (it was a slow day) and I am amazed at the perfect pour I got from it.

After 6 months of learning how to brew I got the grind dialed in perfectly on second cup. It really does make you realize what the slow build up of calcium does to your machine.

  • this coffee subscription always makes the end/start of the month that little bit more exciting. :D

  • Yup, was good it arrived a day early too as I'd just finished the last of the Finca De Licho

  • Trying out this coffee subscription thing. First one's free. Edit: Sofa is actually pretty filthy.

  • Does anyone else have 'Porlex Knuckles'?

I have several craters in my hands where the handle has flung off the lid, usually during the first grind of the day when I am half asleep.

  • Not me. Craters?! I do tend to grind with mine at work, so I'm hardly in a hurry though.

  • Mentioned this elsewhere, but Allpress' Redchurch blend is worth trying. Really easy to brew, nicely balanced.

  • ^ So true. Happily for me, there's a cafe which sells Redchurch right at the bottom of my street.

Ha, no craters, but certainly a few pot holes. It's quite annoying that the handle flies off so easily, you need to keep pushing down whilst grinding which makes the whole thing more of a pain in the A.

Also, intresting about the Redchurch stuff... A bakery down the road from me has started using it and I've noticed the coffees they sell getting waayyyy better. I think they sell the beans too (at a pretty reasonable price n'all) but never got any, so will invest soon.
