If it's a Mignon 2 that's a great price.

Need forumunger assistance please.
I have a gaggia classic and an aeropress, and grind with a porlex mini. The grinder is great, but a mega pain in the bum in terms of the legth of time and effort involved (yes, I'm lazy like that). What's a decent grind machine to get?
Criteria:
Accurate with the grind fineness and consistency
Adjustable for different grade of grind
Not toooooo big
Not tooooooooooo expensive. So, I want to have my cake and eat it. ....Or, have my beans and grind them.....?
I'm in a similar position and am about to buy this

Good reviews.

^ I was in exactly the same position and treated myself to an mc2 (doserless).
Bugger to dial in but now it's setup v.happy with it, daily use now pretty much.

Get a drill. Insert driver attachment to drill. Fit attachment over the grinder. Turn on drill.
Whaaaat?!

^ Thanks all for the comments. That one on coffeeforums has been taken. But an MC2 auto from Happy Donkey looks pretty reasonable (nice one Tom). Anyone got any feedback / views on these?

I'm happy with this:

Burrgrinder and adjustable, even makes the cheap beans a very uniform size.

But does anyone use one grinder for both espresso and filter? I can imagine the adjustment and cleaning every time is incredibly frustrating. I'd probably stick to the Porlex for filter.

Filter? Why?
Baby gaggia for the shots, well I do a double shots. I use the same fineness of grind for the moka pot.
For the cafietiere I do a bit of grinding and keep it in the freezer till needed. Cleaning inbetween is not a major issue.

I feel i've reached a point in my life where having something like this
is the only thing to keep the obsession happy. this now means i'm opening up myself to one hell of a process for my daily fix.
I've got a Gaggia Factory 106- essentially the same machine, I highly recommend it, makes great coffee and is a lot of fun to learn how to use it.

I tried it too. You have to run the drill pretty slowly, I find. Be gentle on the trigger and use a drill-driver if you can, with a low torque setting so you don't damage equipment which is not designed to be driven by anything more than your hands.

Filter? Why?
Electric grinder for espresso, Porlex for filter*. Each set to their respective bag of beans that you're sessioning at the time. Makes sense right? No need to adjust and clean your elec grinder every time you feel like a filter coffee, only to have to clean and re-dial for espresso next time. Just sounds laborious and wasteful.
*Cos it's way easier to hand-grind for filter than espresso

FFS. It was £120 odd in case someone wants to offer them cash on collection (£110 cash might get it I suppose as they'd avoid fees).

^^ The Porlex isn't so consistent at larger grinds due to play in the burrs. Still drinkable though.

Have a burr grinder and cleaning takes a few minutes and enough time for the water to warm.

I use Porlex for filter (aeropress) since getting mc2 for use with the classic. Still got the Zassenhaus too for really coarse grinds - mostly used with decaf & aeropress.

Oh yeah for sure, but jim1985 already has a Porlex, and I'm just saying he might be better off keeping it for the Aeropress and just using the elec for espresso.
Aaanyway he might end up with a machine that's easy to switch between settings/beans, in which case I'll grind my hat and brew it.

My Zassenhaus Turkish mill is perfectly capable of grinding much finer than I require. ie - finer than espresso.
This mill is from the pre-troubled Zassenhaus era. -
