  • ^ nice mod-spresso machine.

I got #12 in the sweepstake, letting the beans rest until the weekend.

  • Did they misunderstand when he asked for it to be modded?

  • Bargain grinder. Looks like a Cunill Tranquilo in chrome:

  • Article about the tragic rise of Nespresso here http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2013/apr/10/rise-coffee-pod-machines-nespresso .

I think it's pretty terrible that high end restaurants dish the stuff out. My parents have one, and it's always really dissapointing, weak and flavourless. Maybe that's the consistency they talk about in the article as being a benefit!? Some of the comments are quite funny, typical Guardian-reader nonsense.

In other news, got some Red Brick the other day - my first ever bag of it and really diggin' it.

  • ^ Was up in Central London last week, and can't believe there is a Nespresso boutique. With people in it?! Meh :(

  • nir wegrzyn, ceo of design agency brandopus, believes the club gives nespresso drinkers "a sense of cultural belonging that taps directly into the sophisticated global lifestyle they seek to achieve".

  • Handpresso - anyone used one?

  • BMMF? I think he has some kind of hand held wizardry...

  • Yeah. Benjam got one fairly recently too. I use it at work. Once you get your grind right, inverse fill-tamp, pre-warm the bowl and screen, and go for the warmer end of 'just boiled', you can get consistent single shots. It's quite a simple (and satisfying) routine really.

  • Have you adapted the shaft of your Porlex there, Scarlett?

  • No, it's a stock Porlex Mini.

  • moving offices soon to Grays Inn Road - can anyone recommend a good coffee shop in the area that has room to sit in?

  • Shame Espresso Room is so tiny. Is Workshop too far?

  • just

  • prufrock?

  • ^ +1, especially if you're on the south end of Gray's Inn Rd.

  • moving offices soon to Grays Inn Road - can anyone recommend a good coffee shop in the area that has room to sit in?

Handy central location - they also do food and cold drinks

  • 'good'

  • 'coffee'

  • 'cum'

  • Prufrock is worth the walk. You don't get much better.

  • thx doodz

  • My local cafe is using Nude's Rwanda Gisuma as a guest espresso at the moment. Damn, that some fine orange/lemon citrussy goodness right there. Best single origin espresso I've had in a while.

  • Classic has lost it's oomph for steam. Likely cause?

  • P.s. also using those Rwandan beans, roasted by Coffee Circle up here tho. Delicious.
