Yes, I work in the ad planning dept at Archant.
Black Genesis Day One rings any bells?
Ah, the penny drops! Sorry. How is the old place?

I predict a long weekend of tinkering ...
Hope you are doing fine?
Here is another link on the subject: How to Banish Uneven ExtractionsI had to learn to program a micro processor called Arduino in order pull off my next stunt;
a unique AUTOMATIC pressure profiling system (the profile are generated on the fly
based on flow-meter readings):

Hey coffee heads...
Does anyone know a shop or cafe (not online) that sells Chemex coffee makers? Central-ish London?
I know Hasbean have them, but it is about £8 postage, and I kind of want to scope out the sizes in person first.

I really like the Arduino coffee machine idea from jacob. My machine is definitely in need of something like that. How much time did you spend? how difficult was it to get sensors?

Girlfriend would not approve.

Right, I want to stop my steam wand from leaking.
Of the parts below, is it going to be the best idea to get everything, as in replacing a chain and a cassette at the same time, or are only some parts the "consumable" elements?
The tip of part 47 has corroded and no longer seals fully, hence the wand leaks steam when the machine is on.

Thanks. I did use some time learning to program the micro processor, say to hours a day for tree month. But until now I have only been doing the very basic stuff and I'm far from finishing the system. I didn't use any new sensors, I'm only interfacing with things that are present in the standard machine (3-way valve, steam boiler filling valves and the flow-meter). My gear-pump/motor unit are the only special thing in my system.

Descaled my Silvia for the first time in 2 years. Kicking myself for not having done it sooner – noticeable difference in taste.

If you can find just that part 47, i should do the trick when you replace it.
Not sure you can get spares for them though. I never looked. -

I've seen this doing the rounds this week; perhaps a repost but:

Jacob, that's pretty cool. I've got an Arduino at home but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Might start with something a little more basic than that!

Just sampling my first brew with my new grinder (never had one before), some monmouth Ethiopian beans, and a stove top. Definitely a noticable improvement in flavour having ground them about a minute before before brewing up. Pretty sure I ground too many beans for one cup, so am buzzing away very pleasantly.

Hello coffee freaks,
It's been now about 1 month that I've been helping my mate, Lo, in his little gem of a cafe - Bird.
Bird café is located in Dalston, for those of you bothered enough to get a good, decent, worth every pence, cup of brew.
We're serving Climpson&Sons (default), Andronicas and Nude (<ususally only weekends).
There's also a variety of sarnies and baked stuff, the good news is that I'M DOING ALL THE BAKING!... 8D
so yes, most of the stuff I've posted to FOOD thread, is being served at Bird.
Muffins, brownies, toasts, melts, weapons, honeys, smoothies...you name it.
Don't be shy, come by, we're trying to make it more bike friendly, trying to figure out a way of having
our own racks/vases outside but the council is a bitche.location: 52 Boleyn Road, Dalston, Hackney N16 8JP
LFGSS friendly, if you ask for your coffee followed by "do a skid!!!", that's 10% off. ;)
You're all welcome you bunch of hipsters.
Laters.

^ been there, it's very nice. Spoke to an australian / kiwi (?) guy there, was after some beans. They didn't sell them at the time so he gave me a whole cup of their own, top man!

its my friends business and he really knows his stuff. think there is around a week wait before postage for all beans as he roasts them per order :)
