I find the 250g tubs of pre-ground Illy coffee to be quite good in my Gaggia. You might want to try that as your supermarket coffeee.
This was the best stuff Tesco had. Waitrose near me has those Illy tins though.
I will move onto grinding my own as soon as I get hold of a suitable grinder. Monmouth just down the road.. lunch trip.. -

Maybe not laughing. But pointing out that your, then current, coffee preference was for well brewed Nescafé and similar comments. It was a long time ago. I can't remember that well.
No, no, no.. you have it all wrong. If I can get nice coffee I prefer nice coffee.
I couldn't get nice coffee at home so I would have instant (except for Nescafe which I particularly don't like). I was making the point that instant is well.. instant. I didn't have the patience to wait for a stovetop in the mornings, especially when my results were inferior to what Coffee Buzz could give me for a small fortune in GBP :) -

Did I really write that? It's pretty funny since I pay £2.80.
You sure I wasn't drunk/joking/taking the piss out of me/you/others? -

No. All the stovetop instructions I've seen say NO tamping.

I got my solenoid valve today! It's way larger than the original one and I thought the electrical connectors wouldn't fit but they do.. so now I'm trying to put it back together.. lucky I took a few digicam shots of the deconstruction..
