Well, beer, coffee AND bikes.. spice route trap if ever I saw one. If I wasn't on the bike I'd stop in to watch some racing.

Haha spice route trap. Why didn't they name it that?
In unrelated news, my Silvia came the other day. Got myself down to Monmouth earlier and got my first taste of real home espresso. Happy.

+1
They do it right in europe where you can go to what is first and foremost a coffee bar but get a beer or a glass of red if you fancy it. Need this.

yes indeed. And my yet to fail hangover cure, 'the four drink regime'
1 large glass freshly pressed orange juice
1 can coke
1 double esspresso
1 can beerit's freshen up, then some up and then some even more up, and finally round the corners off with beer, and you're ready for another day. Or night, which tends to be the case

I'm well on the way to persuading the office to spend £700 odd on a new coffee machine / grinder setup. Think we finally have a critical mass of people who "won't put up with this shit no more".
Exciting times.
Question is, what to buy? From previous experience, I'm thinking Rancilio Silvia machine & grinder. any thoughts?

rancilio silvia + mazzer mini is full of win

yeah. flat white with badly poured rosetta... i'm not the total expert that lots of you are, but the milk wasn't textured very well and the shot was a bit mealy. city roasters though, so there's potential. they just need to get a barrista who knows what they're doing in there. maybe i'll stick to tea until they sort that out.
otherwise, the place is great to work in. sunny and bright, good wifi, lots of space and you don't feel like a dick for taking up a table for a long time, nice staff, pretty good food (though odd selection). i think i'm going to like having it around the corner.
-
• #1947
teddy, why not keep the table and i'll try and persude some of 9-5 forumengers to descend on you at beer-o-clock?
-
• #1948
fine, bollocks to you all then. i'm going home to raid the fridge and have crying kneeling wank.
