Coldbrew is too fucking good.
ftfy.
It's such a dangerous drink in summer, I would easily drink the whole 2L I prepared the night before, which is just, you now, a bit much coffee.

I know, right? I've legit had to quit coffee cold turkey before because coldbrew set me up so well in the morning I'd need masses of filter at work or I couldn't function. Still possibly my favourite way to drink it though.

Went to an all-nighter movie marathon at the Prince Charles with 1.5l of cold brew to keep me company, almost passed out on the ride home the next morning.

Great, will look into that!

Getting industrial with the nitro martini. I’m hoping I can get this into some bars - all they need to do is stick the cylinder on the bar and draw off draught espresso martinis. No espresso equipment or skills required, no prep time either. This is prototype #1

I'm sure I've seen pre-mix espresso martini stuff in M&S before though I'm not sure how it works (add ice and shake?).
Presumably in this case you've used cold brew (sweetened?) then added correct quantities of vodka and kahlua and then run it through the gas line?
-
• #14588
Haha, that's bloody great. Definitely going to have to come and give that a go...
-
• #14589
Yeah equal vodka and cold brew, half quantity kahlua, get it in the keg and gas it up. Then either run it through a line cooler or shake it over ice.

Your next cycling event to be nitrous fuelled? What would WADA say?

They'd never be able to catch me to do the test and even if they did my piss would probably melt their bottles.

How are the discussions going?

Anyone near trowbridge?
Bought a commercial La pavoni machine, not working/broken and now got to go get it. Thatis going to cost more than the machine.

You mean concerning the Starlyte? I left it behind (we’re in Colorado now, on the way to Utah for some hiking/camping) in favour of what’s called the ‘Fancy Feast’ stove. Integrated stand, almost zero bloom and higher efficiency convinced me.

I give up on utfs and Google. Help me coffee geeks. Why do I often end up with a soggy espresso puck after brewing? Cleaned everything, machine backflushes as it should, tested different grinds and doses etc. Quite often it's like mud when I remove the handle.

On my Gaggia Classic I found that puck sogginess depends on coffee volume, eg with 20 gr in a bottomless portafilter (that leaves ~ half of the basket empty when tamped) the puck is soggy and with the same dose in a smaller basket the puck is much drier. I also found that the coffee tasted good anyway so stopped worrying about it. (but what do I know?)
Porlex and Rhino are probably your best bets. I think the Rhino is considered better. Though my Porlex is 7 years old and still going strong.
