Been getting a regular supply of Monmouth coffee, I'm like >_<
Anyone come across Black Sheep coffee? They were nearly a client of ours, they specialise in high caffeine robusta, they want to be the Red Bull of the coffee world, anathema to this thread I'm sure!

I was thinking this. But not sure what I'd use to hold the coffee, like a carafe or something. Or do you mean do the first cup then move it over to the other? I thought maybe the second cup would not be as good as the first.
-

Yeah, you'd get one slightly over-extracted coffee if you do one cup after the other.
I use this for camping, http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/equipment-c3/kitchen-stuff-c8/kitchen-accessories-c18/ultralight-javadrip-p545
and think it would be great for general travellingtwo of these would be make quick easy coffee without needing paper filter, but goes against you're making two in one device brief

Well, um, robusta is higher in Caffeine because it's grown at a lower altitude. So all robusta is high in Caffeine compared to most arabica.
Personally there is very little quality taste wise in robusta for me. The excess levels of Caffeine make it very bitter.

Yeah yeah I know I was saying that their USP is high caffeine convenience coffee which to me stinks

• #11257
Well, um

Like you might say high octane super unleaded; there isn't low octane super unleaded but it's ok to clarify that if the point of your comment is the high octane nature of super unleaded rather than the price, availability, taste etc
-
• #11259
Technically there is low super unleaded but you get my point about semantics

Been about 9 months since I got this grinder, Bodum burr, rrp ~ £115? Get em online for £55-80
Not my photo, I don't leave that many beans in the top.TBH its been great, I do enjoy coffee but don't have the space and CBA to go any more serious into it. Our kitchen has ONE 600x800mm work surface, thats it!
It does what it says on the tin, grinds enough for a one cup pour over, cafetierre or mocha pot in around 5-7 seconds, its quiet enough, hasn't broken down become jammed or anything other than just grind beans into the right size. Gets the brickman seal of approval
Also finally found a trivet big enough to allow me to use the mocha pot, and it grinds fine enough for that (though probably not enough for a proper commercial machine/porta?)

I have a friend who went to the London Coffee featival a few months ago and had a recommendation to try Black Sheep as a new roaster and someone to keep an eye on. He knew it would be bad but tried it anyway.
It was bad. -

@ObiWomKenobi - I heard pre- Phillips versions are the better ones to go for. Information gleaned from Coffee Forums.
Though I suspect in reality there isn't much in it. I've had a Phillips version for a few years and its been brilliant so far.

Pre-Philips are slightly more reliable. I think it may be the 3-way valve they used.
I have a spare Gaggia Classic to sell, but I'm away on holiday in Skye. If you buy second hand, make sure it was either run on soft (or bottled) water, or was regularly descaled.

At work we have a subscription with hasbean.co.uk, however the coffee is currently arriving faster than we can drink it and so we have quite a few bags.
If anyone would like to liberate some beans, the boss would like £10 per kilo (4x250g bags). All proceeds will go to the office falafel fund.
Just drop me a PM if you fancy some. The office is in Canary Wharf and I'm based in Crouch End.

Just use the code BEERS for a free bag. You'll need to enter card details but just cancel it after the first bag.

Does anyone have experience of reusable steel Nespresso pods?
I'd like a steel one with a closable top, ie.. one for which I don't need to buy sundries for?
Thanks
