Good on 'em.
Really must find his cart when he's back.it's not actually on columbia road, if you go along ezra (think it's called that) there is a little yard with some antique looking stalls, he's at the back of that next to some guys who cook sausages and bacon etc..
if anyone is bored tomorrow afternoon, that link that Steve posted will be active from about 5pm uk time, and it'll only be on for a couple of hours. tomorrow should be a good day!

before i go and order the plastic thing for the end of my wand so i can play with milk
does anyone who upgraded to a rancilo wand for their gaggia want to sell me their old one? -
• #1007
Just rummaged through the kitchen junk drawer but couldn't find the plastic frother thingy. I've got the bit it attaches onto if that's any good? I've also found some dead batteries, mobile phone chargers for phones I dont think I ever had and some gay porn playing cards. Fruitful mission.

Score!
How hard is that Rancillio wand upgrade? If I go ahead and do it you can have the current wand.

Gwilym Davies is new world barista champion. Congratulations to Gwilym, James and Anette.

Yep.. they didn't half take their time leading up to the announcement.. and by then I missed it since I was making a coffee haha
I didn't see him doing anything. What was his specialty drink?
-
• #1014
I missed his performance because the in-laws came round an hour late. Burnt dinner and no Gwilym. Fuck's sake.
In the heats it was a chocolate and orangey reductiony thingy.
I was quite ready to slit my wrists by the time they got round to announcing it, then they played the national anthem before they'd announced the winner. Bunch of cunts. I hope they sort out all this sponsorship carry-on before next years final in London.

MrSmith: I've ordered a Rancilio steam arm so you can have mine when I've installed the new one.
Couple of days I guess. Remind me and I'll drop it off one night with the tamper. -

Back from a US trip, and was lucky enough to visit Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. Always thought it was something boy scouts drunk in camp, but a dash of chicory in your coffee is now the way to start your day. Preferably with beignets.
Or have my taste buds finally given up on me?
-

I used to use coffee and chicory essence when making home-made Kahlua.
That's all I have to say about that. -

That can really on work in New Orleans. With a plate of smoulderingly hot beignets.
Really, it's all about the beignets. They could serve the beignets with instant coffee and it would make the coffee taste better.
Global Culinary Rule #1: You can't go wrong with fried dough. Ever.

I've got the left hand and middle bit. Shame I can't find the main bit, it's chrome off an Achille (posh).
No sailors but check out this unit on the 9 of spades.

I think that's probably the explanation. Plus most of the coffee was so foul anything with a bit of depth to it was welcome.
Still, I brought home a tub, so I can see how it kickstarts me, sans beignets. Or make Kalhua.
good dudes backed hard.
