with the bolt there is a gap in the chainring and most chainring are aluminium and the hole gets bigger. the spline is a perfect fit, i mean a thin film of paint and my didn't go on. plus the inner spline of the chainring is steel, just like the axle.

Dogs, well covered.
DT, They're amazingly well machined. Slipping will not happen but it's just possible to add a bolt too if you're that way inclined.
M A X, You're wrong I'm afraid. The old Tree sprockets go up to 44T, the new splined ones only go up to 36 as even dirt jumpers have moved away from the classic BMX 44*16 ratio. -

Valid when we're talking about just chattin'da'shit.
When it comes to technical know-how we're usually pretty close though. -

what bb/cranks do you guys recommend?
-
• #94
Profiles with a profile euro BB. Get the Titanium axle if you want to keep the weight down though as they're heavy.

• #95
basically he was saying that this looked splined and pointed to the 39T stamped on it

The thing that drives me the most nuts about the profile hubs is that each side has a different chainline ("44mm fixed, 47mm free"). Why, oh why? And neither of them are even standard chainlines. RRRAAAAAGH!
I think it could be because a screw on freewheel doesn't give the same chainline as a track cog and so this would happen on any symmetrical flip flop hub. I seem to remember this being an issue when people couldn't get chainlines to work when they converted a Genesis Flyer to fixed. I've never used a screw on freewheel so I'm not sure.

I've got a friend who swears by his. He does ride profile cranks/chainrings/barends/seatclamp/pedals though - so it's possible he may be an addict so the brand.
