  • want the bike built first :(

  • Delayed pleasure > instant pleasure. HTFU you sad face!
You should keep the green pedals - they are the epitome of HHSB.

  • My 25t has been shipped today.
And I'm dangerously close to spending a lot of money at dansbmx.com

Sorry for the delay dogs, I'm actually working - monthend and all that bollocks.

Cheers for having my back Prav.

  • tree splined chainring! ;)

    ah i see...

How do these hold to continued abuse? Are they reliable enough to use on a brakeless bike?

  • They're 7075 Aluminium so they'll wear quicker than a
steel ring, they are however designed for heavy steet and park BMX so they're solid as sin.

we'll see very shortly. should be better than the single bolt holding it on. the chainring is chunky as fuck and the splined centre section is steel.

  • yeah, i'm sure the ring itself is more than strong enough - i was more concernd with striping the splined centre.

  • if car axles run multiple splines then i'm sure it will be OK!

  • oohh, nice green!

  • and since they're supposed to be for hard core bmx-ing, i reckon they will be ok for dog's sunday/pimp/slave thingie

  • there is quite a lot of splines.

  • my old bullseye cranks had one arm splined onto the other, had them for 15 years, no probs.

  • ahhhh greeen, i need that
    so peeerty

and by a company called tree, what more could you want

    maybe a few more splines...

  • To be fair Tree only make amazing products, and get to charge their premium for them. If there's any chance of stripping them they wouldn't be on the market as the company is renowned for delaying release if they're not 100% happy.

    48 to be precise

Exactly c.v joints have a few splines and circlip to hold them on and I think a car prduces nearly as much torque as dogs.

they're one of these 'eco' company's some blab on the tag.... just binned it!

  • actually these kind of splines are as strong as it gets. there's a reason why but i can't be fucked with it now. tree make top-end gear.

  • cool, was just wondering because they've been made for bmx's which will only apply force in one direction (when you are accelerating) where fixed wheel set-ups will apply the force in both directions.

might look into these things a bit more

  • they are directionless though, no?

  • yup

The splines are symmetric with respect to rotation so the direction does not matter.

  • Too late.

  • true, but you could say the same about the single bolt chainring. The problem being that any sort of gap will make it feel like the cog is slipping when you change the direction of the force.
