Hey, yeah there are not many fixed gears in Paris it's mostly the couriers that use them when they're not worked.
There a fixed gear meet up every Thursday night.
I'm off to Paris tomorrow morning, :)
If any of you guys are in Paris give me a bell, I'll show you some cool places to ride around. :D -

bicloune are great. marco would look at me like i was a nut when i'd come in and not know the french names for parts, then he'd speak to me angrily in english and sort my bike out. just as i left in june i started meeting guys who rode fixed; they told me there were about 30 of them, and that was 9 months ago. surely the scene is growing. and didn't they have a big party at colette for the BFF?

Hi, Bicloune now hang a fixed gear bike in their window and while I haven't met this marco guy a bloke there called christophe said he would find me a "vrai pista" of 62cm and kit it out (basic) for €600 which isn't bad. His basement was full of frames ready to go for those who have short to normal legs. I have spotted a few people riding fixed in Paris but most looked suspiciously English. I ride my crappy old mountain bike here (paris) and my nice fixed one in London.

Hi guys.
I am from Paris, I have started riding fixed gear last summer, if you come to visit our town, you can easily spot fixed gear bikes if you stay in some areas of Paris. Our community is not as big as London's, but it's growing for sure, to the point that it raised media attention. It has been mentioned earlier but don't hesitate to contact "us" on pignonfixe.com, if you plan a trip to Paris.Rasmus, try FUSAC magazine, its' target is American, but you should find some classifieds for roomate. There might be some web site for roomate in France, try to google "collocation, paris", the thing is that you will need to understand french as the adds might not be available in English.
Cheers

Currently living in Paris, staying here till May. Enjoying riding in the city but trying to find out more about regular rides and stuff. Tried pignonfixe but i speak literally zero French so no idea what's going on. Any of the Paris residents know of any regular riding going on?

also sent a message to rock'n'rollin fixie club. went on their ghost ride the other week but felt a bit out of my depth not knowing any French. was good riding though! up for riding pretty much anytime, especially at weekends as i do the 9-5 grind in Massy. Living in city centre though.
been trying to wade through pignon fixe using google translator but it's tough going. any idea where and when they meet on thursday's?

thursday - palais royale 21h http://www.pignonfixe.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=102&page=246
tuesday - palais royale again, dunno what time, keep an eye out here -- they ride to la defense through pretty heavy traffic, it seems. Not my thing. http://www.pignonfixe.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=17985&page=73 -

got you pm, all good
I work on my bike these days, and on the weekends play polo, so i'm probably no good company for long rides.
However, i live with Mr. Rock n Rolling so if you need some detailed info about any rides just email (pm) me and i'll ask.

J'aime this thread. My g/f lives in Paris, well near Paris anyway in Meaux where the Brie comes from. Would v. much like to go live there. Need a job tho. For some reason many French peeps struggle to understand my version of French, I have no idea why. C'est la vie...
