  • no, i still stand by that formula hubs are crap. but recently i splashed out and bought some phils (for a decent price mind you). the difference is amzing. you pay for what you get. pay peanuts, expect monkeys.

  • do you work for phil wood???

  • redrum do you work for phil wood???

    i am a biomedical researcher

formula's have there place ie start build. they may hold up fine, but then again they may not. i higher quality hub like goldtec etc, you know they will go on for ever!

  • But you've not ridden them for ever.. :P

You lot can have your slanging match over hubs. How many miles have you ridden on Phils? How many miles have you ridden on Formula? Probably fuck all on boths counts so shuddup ya whinging the lot of yaz!

I've got Phils AND SystemEx and they both still work fine, the SysEx's having an unnecessary bearing replacement (£10) - it was the BB making the noise not the hub bearings.

  • tis true, they will hold up for ever and ever. i do use formula, though i have a few bikes and the formula are only on one of them. i just disliked the elietest decent hub comment, one shouldn't assume everyone can buy the most expensive components, i thought this forum was supposed to be about fixie comunity not about fixie elitism.

  • hippy.

i rode about 300/400 miles a week on them, for a year, used phils also at work for a year, used mavic ellipse for about 3 months (until i went under a car in an alleycat ), used a spinergy rev x for a few months at work. rode goldtec, used navagator pista with nova tec hubs for a year at work.... blah blah blah. don't assume everyone just commutes.

it's not, but don't kid people that formulas are good as phils.

  • said that there wernt much difference, for the sort of riding most people on this forum do i dont think there is a huge difference. topic was what lockring? answer is easy...its dura ace. where was the question about phil wood or goldtec hubs??? people just have to show off.

  • educate!

this forum never vears off track ;)

  • ok mr king of the fakengers cant tell the difference between a bareknuckle and a brassknuckle, such an educator!

p.s i guessing from the shit you waffled at the bottom of your post you dont actually know me, maybe you should save your childish schoolyard humour for you fakenger playmates. my comment was not supposed to prove my manhood, only that i have a small amount of experiance in this subject and was willing to educate not give shitty advice to people like...

"what lockring do i need for formula hubs?"
    "you need decent hubs...hahaha"

    how is that educating???

  • redrum Hippy was referring to dogs when he was taking the pissout of mileage not you. He likes to take the piss out of dogsballs.

Phills are nice hubs but I have found that cheap hubs still last well if looked after. About 18 months - 2 years at 100 - 150 miles a week (+ the odd w/e ride) on mine.

    Love and kisses.

  • I would like phils on a nice bike though don't get me wrong.

  • mate you are the one that has carried all this shit on. i mearly pointed out that one of the comments was rubbish and you felt the need to jump in. i know you didnt write it. fuck you are weird. you got a big mouth on the internet, i guess its easy. all you need to do is put a smiley in after. i aint up for this internet banter shit, i saw a distasteful comment and reacted. i was mearly point out how this topic had veared off track ; )
