RPM I wouldn't leave anything in Dalston, apart from maybe a cloud of smoke as I disappeared quickly as possible.
what's so great about this boozer then?
All the jazzy c*nts with quiffs, funny plimsolls and girls' jeans go there. Its achingly hip. Best avoided, its rammed usually.

it's full of hipsters talking loudly, it's in the crime epicentre of london, your bike will be stripped if you leave it outside, you may have to queue.
is it worth the trip up from tooting?
-
• #130
Why would you leave Tooting when you've got Kastoori's?
-
• #131
Mmmm.... kastoori's - did you ever go to the 'fast food' style place next door?
-
• #132
kastoori....worlds greatest dahi puri i seem to remember!

Sounds like the pub I used to live next door to in De Beauvoir called the Talbot.
Full of coked-up wankers that I used to have to scream abuse at on a regular basis. I don't get the attraction of these pubs. Give me an old dark boozer with sky sports and a dart board any day of the week. These new trendy pubs don't tend to give a damn about anything over than profits, and if the owners are anything like the owners of the Talbot then all your pleas will fall on deaf ears. Maybe people should just not go to the pub, or boycott it until the owner changes his attitude?
I would never leave my bike locked up anywhere around that area. I left my bike locked up in my own alleyway, changed up to a special bike lock built into the bricks, behind an eight foot high locked gate with spikes on it. Came down in the morning and all that was left was the frame, rear wheel and cranks. Unbelievable.
I could go on about crime in this area all week but I don't want to bore people or cause any negativity. All I would say is be very careful around the whole Dalston, Hackney, Balls Pond Road area.

You gotta admit though,it's still better than it was in mid nineteenth century.

If there's a lot of business given to the pub by cyclists, it should be in the pub's interest to look after them.
The George is a haven for thieves, yet people continue to take their bikes.
It's not fair that you should give in to these thieves and leave bikes at home, but they're giving you all such hard times.
It's obviously such a talking point amongst thieves. A regular hotspot.
Unfortunately, no matter where you go they'll try find you...
...but wouldn't it be great to find a place where the pub could protect your bikes. -

Was in the Carpenters Arms off 'brick lane of London's famous London' on friday and the landlord suddenly came out to the garden and told everyone to check their bikes as a gang of kids was hanging around with an evil glint in their eyes.
Not hard for a landlord to do to look after his customers. -

...and while you were out checking your bikes, he rifled through your bags.

George is closest pub to my house and in his defence I have to say the landlord is a pleasant enough fellow though he could clearly do more. There is always the Spurstowe though nothing beats LMNT for the hot date.

I was in there on Friday night for a quick pint. Not been in there for years but the birds have gone well down hill. And what happened to Carl Cox on the decks!?

i spoke to the landlord of the george on fri he said bikes have been stolen on a regular basis for the past 15years from the railings outside.
was then having a fag outside visions in dalston later and some guy was trying to sell a mountain bike for £15 i spoke to the person he was offering it to and said it was obviously nicked as he had a bag full of tools with him. anyway the seller walked off calling us cunts for wasting his time.
sunday was drinking in the bricklayers charlotte road, and a group of kids started taking interest in all the bikes outside, me and some others went out and just stared at them they got a bit sheepish and walked off. later saw one of that gang on a brompton or similar pulling a wheelie. -
