Lovely result! 100% vintage except tyres / grease.. so you can actually use it!
Now, can we please discuss your saddle angle? -
• #84
She's a beaut!

provenrad Now, can we please discuss your saddle angle?
haven't taken her for a ride yet. so still to sort niggles.

Angle looks about right for a leather saddle (nice butchering job btw - did you cut tabs to tuck underneath or just cut it straight along?).
Whole thing's looking beautiful.

Nice work Dale, the resilons are rather dashing, to use the period terminology.
Did you block out the saddle? I've been doing one of mine, not totally happy with the result, can't decide whether to try again, longer soaking, more packing etc.
Is that Williams chainring steel? Looks sturdier than the one I mashed on me Claud.
You must be the proudest daddy in these parts...
Message to anyone doing up something similar:
I have a varnish-fix fifties Butted 531 transfer same on Dales Holdsworth, I got the wrong one so I don't need it... Also a classic GB spearpoint cast stem, about 100mm, in good nick. Or they're going on ebay soon. -

Very nice. Wonderful to see such a classic British bike. Hard to believe it all started as that tatty black frame. Well done sir!
I hope you've been studying the 'Vintage' version monopoly board if you're riding this on the night.Good luck with the tubs. I've just swapped mine out for some vintage Mavic clinchers. I gashed my NOS Clement's beyond repair! :-(
So nice to ride though. You need some 'Sepia' photographs of you with the bike now. Timeless. -

31t®um the wheels ain't soldered :p
tried last night for an hour or two, but gave up as i need a torch or something as soldering iron can't get the spokes as well as wire hot enough :(
todd, i've been keeping an eye out for clements. hopefully some tub sealant that provenrad has for me will work, not that it will see the road that much. i'm about to build up some 27" clinchers, but still not sure, will probably sell those.

You need a torch for soldering spokes, but a fairly small one that runs off canisters should do it.
Thought I'd upload some pictures of my similar frame now that it's finished.
