hippy 7.6kg with pedals according to cyclingnews.com: http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?id=tech/2005/reviews/specialized_tarmac
Mine's got SPD-SLs, Ksyrium ES wheelset, ITM stem, Toupe saddle so that'll differ a bit but it's probably still under 8kg.
But it's not the weight that's cool.. it's the stiffness.. oh man it hates London traffic.. it just wants to gooooo! :DOh yeah, the stiffness:

I ride alu frames usually so not so sure about that vertical compliance.. laterally stiff is on the money though. Zoom zoom zoom.
I wish this weekend wasn't so shit weather-wise. I'd take it out if it was like last weekend.

it's -10 and snow this weekend isn't it?
that's putting the pain on my new regime!

Yeah, fucked if I'm going to break something on the way to Brighton. Not until I know the curse has lifted will I ride that route below 10degC.
Just throw on some more clothes and get wet and cold. It's good for you.

oh yeah, it won't stop me going (20mph winds too)
but it might stop me staying out as long as I'd like..
the old asthma kicks in at very low temps, I cannee breath and stuff, it's not much fun.
I need to live in Trinidad, really. -

Have you tried one of those buff things? Or a balaclava arrangement? Just something that covers your mouth so the air you're sucking down isn't so cold. I've heard this works but I don't know personally.

I bought a balaclava, a cycling one. but haven't used it yet..
it looks like it'll make my glasses steam up... but it might help until I warm up.
it'll soon be spring, only another 7 weeks max of cold weather

I wouldn't ride if it's 50 degrees fahrenheit or 14 degrees celcius.

i wrap a scarf over my nose and mouth and it does the trick although when i move my head to certain angles it steams up my glasses

if warm air gets behind your lenses they will steam as the back will be colder then the front, same thign if hot air hits the front and the back is cold (like when you go inside)

hippy, have you converted it to fixed yet?
-
• #65
