Could organize that. But don't expect too much from Gazelle nowadays. However, I must admit that it's maybe 15 years ago that I was there.
When I live in Dieren, I went a few times to UK to race (weekends around Rayleigh, Basildon; week around Sheffield) and cycled back.
From Vlissingen is a bit far and Hoek van Holland / Rotterdam area is a bit busy (and I don't know how to ride there).
By car from Vlissingen to Breda / Oosterhout and then by bike is a very nice ride.Around Dieren are nice "woods" and "hills".
About the best place in NL to ride bike. -

No idea where to get these online apart from Greg in Australia.
But repro Gazelle decals are available in Europe for over 30 years.
I would say, ask a frame painter. He might know.
Check with Lloyds. -

Unless I'm misunderstanding you - my frame has that style cable guides, and seat-clamp system? Mine is a special though.
Here's a pic from before I built it up.
Come on Mark, Show us a picture of the bike and how you've build it! I'm soo curious..
I'm also working on a lovely '90s project, i will post some pictures when i'm done with it!

Could anyone (Nederlandse kaas of Zieleman) tell me from which year this bike (Gazelle Champion Mondial AA-Special) is?

Ha! Sorry, Chaim. I'll try and get a picture later today. It's been getting a lot of usage, btw. I've always been more a tourer than a road rider, but it's really made me want to buy a newish road bike.

Nice! Good to hear Mark.. I can't wait to finish my Gazelle AA-special build and come over to London for some good sized beers and a tour or two!!

Do it! We've got a pull out couch waiting if you need a place to crash.
Although I'm liking the idea of a Gazelle trip to the Netherlands.

Any time mate, any time! We'll do both this summer, ok?

Shame,
if that's a cinelli bb spoiler in your picture, then I'd take a guess and suggest it might be 1991 - I've got the same spoiler on mine which is 1990, and figured the second and third digits reading left to right indicated the frame's date of manufacture. Dutch Cheese also suggested this might be the case because the Cinelli spoiler was introduced by Gazelle in 1990. I've included a link below to some photos Tel posted of my AA before I bought it from him (one of which includes the bb spoiler). I've added a Campagnolo headset and pedals since, so might post some photo's of what it looks like in its current state soon.http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/t...azelles045.jpg

Nice, thnx Uncle buk!
And yes, it's a Cinelli spoiler.. What confuses me is the type on the bike though, those suggest the bike is a bike younger (around 94/95..)
Maybe it has been restored/ some new decals heve been put on?

Shame,
you could be right about the dates; the serial numbers confuse me at the best of times and I was employing a touch of guesswork. The colour and decals look period. I think mine's the same paint job but with different decals. If you know what groupset the Gazelle came with (possibly Campagnolo Chorus, looking at your photo), then that might help with the date. Otherwise, Dutch Cheese is a recognised authority and I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out.Uncle Buk

Well, i bought the bike with a late Veloce and new (10 speed) Chorus mix, but that would suggest the bike was build after 1996 or so.. I think the Veloce mix was put on later. I'm restoring the bike now with a complete '91 (pre ergo) Chorus group. I think it suits the frame, though it already has ergo cable guides on the headtube, way better..

Got hold of this frame through Tel a couple of weeks ago, it's going to be my first SS conversion, should be a great summer project!
It's an AA special frame, i'm guessing 1980 ish. Won't be able to afford a respray or anything at the moment unfortunately, anyone got any advice on touching up the wear on the paint and getting rid of the rust on the down tube?
Any other info/thoughts would be great

Oh, did I ?
I don't remember exactly when Cinelli / Gazelle introduced this BB shell, but for sure before 1990.
Guess a couple of years before.
Decals are newer though... -

Heb je enig idee dan van welk jaar mijn AA-Special is Dutch Cheese? Ik kan totaal geen lijn vinden in de serienummers van Gazelle..

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get some replacement decals like this? Was hoping for something a little cheaper/closer to home as I only really want the DT/ST ones.
Searched this thread to no avail.
Ta
Since i spend some real effort in finding original older style Gazelle decals (70ies), i guess this is the only choice.
If you need the newer type decals (84- 88?) you can ask Mario from ebay, he still got some of the original decals, but the glue-power of the decals is long gone, i guess you need clear coat to really fix it to the frame. The next person who wants to order from Greg Softley should tell him that the decals have a spelling mistake. It should be written "Handmade" not "handmade" on both versions he offers.
Poor mistake :(

You could be right about the year 1990.
This was one of the 1st series with the Cinelli spoiler bracket.
It looked cool, saved the frame builder from brazing the cable guides and, according to Cinelli, the spoiler design helped to suck water out of the BB-shell.Apologies Dutch Cheese, didn't mean to misquote you, it was just the inference I took from your response to a previous enquiry. When did Gazelle introduce the Cinelli BB spoiler, then?
Best,

I must have been drunk then.
Your frame could be from 1990, but the BB shell with spoiler was introduced earlier.Either Gazelle used a BB shell from an old stock for your frame or they've received a batch from Cinelli w/o Gazelle logo in front of the spoiler. Either by mistake or shortage / long lead times at Cinelli.

Sorry I have no clue.
There is a certain trend in Gazelle serial numbers, but yours doesn't fit in it.
But there are more Gazelles with an irregular serial number.
Based on the info you gave, I can't give you a very good answer.
Mid 1990's I think.
Perhaps an older one, but repainted...
^ a wealth of knowledge!
We should organize a Gazelle trip to the Netherlands at some point. Bike to ferry, get drunk on ferry, bike to Dieren (or wherever) and take a tour. Would be fun.
