Just got the frame back from Argos Racing Cycles and they've done a splendid job. I'm chuffed to bits with her. Pearlescent white with Italian yellow panels, re-fit badge, frame-saver, etc:

@andyp - thanks chap! It's nearly finished now, just need that saddle back from Skully ;-)
@dicki - I don't think it was AA but it's certainly a good one. The whole frame is a bit of an oddball for a Gazelle. Originally (or at least when I got it a couple of years ago) it was a tatty off-white (not original paint) and had been ridden around London as a courier's bike for years trouble free until the then owner got a different job and stored it away before giving it to me. It's deffo Gazelle as it's stamped in the BB shell. I sent pictures of the frame number, frame and BB to the Gazelle factory and got their customer services to do some digging (they were very helpful). It has a digit missing from the frame no. Gazelle put it down to 'human error' but it made it very, very, difficult to date it. However, an oldtimer who'd been at the factory for over 40 years had a look at the pics and reckons it's one of the very early track frames they built, dating it at late 60s early 70s (but then later said it 'could' be late 70s early 80s). So, in short it's hard to say really :-)
Whatever it is I know this much, it's a Gazelle, it's light, it's old, it's now shiny and pretty, I love it.

stunning mate, normally I'd go for red instead of yellow, but that's even better, especially since it's pretty original.

Stunning, looks like they did a splendid job on that frame.
I've been looking for a track/path Gazelle frame myself for a while now but the prices are just silly at the moment. -

Anyone know of a Gazelle track in 53/4 for sale? Someone close to me would dearly love one, can offer a finder's fee!

I wish I didn't have to let this frame go, was a size too small, wanted to build it back to its former geared glory. 753 is what it's about.

Striking resemblance, just a coincidence.
