Seriously considering one of these after fixing it to work these last few weeks. Wouldn't mind hearing your long term views and seeing any of your Ti Courier builds.
BMMF - your ti courier picture isn't available any more. Any chance of a pic?
Anyone elso got one?
Cheers

I built this for my dad a few months back. It's now rocking Phil Wood/Mavic CXP33 wheels and done about 1000miles.
I rode it for my first long ride a few weeks ago (45 miles) and it was sweeeet!
Really smooth and forgiving, yet stiff when you put the power down. It really benefits from a stiff component build as the frame is more than forgiving enough.
I actually went through Burls on this, not hubjub, but essentially the same thing!

You've changed your position then? Have you been riding it on a turbo or something?

No. I realised when I put it away in the garage next to the Spesh, the Colnago and the (dead) Wilier that the seatpost was way short. Hence the new post and stem.
Top marks for observation. You missed the Record titanium cassette though...

C'est fini...
forgive my foolishness, but what is the benefit of having carbon stays? is it just a weight thing?

They're not carbon. They're 'carbon-enhanced titanium'. No, me neither.
Thanks. I love the look of the bars (insert boozing joke here)...

Out of interest how heavy are your bikes Crane, Platini and DJ ?
-
• #239
James' bike weighs about the same as a fart.
-
• #240
My farts weigh about the same a small child :/

I think you mean, 'how light are your bikes?'
As for mine - not as light as it will be when I finally get to ride it...
-
• #243
so. it will be lighter with you on it?
time to buff up my friend -
• #244
i wouldn't be surprised if platini's bike weighs the same if not a tiny bit less than BMMF's
lighter frame wheels and contact points making up for the weight of gears. -

BMMF and Dancing James. Cheers for the pics. The tubes seem relatively skinny for a modern ti frame. The Burls has got to be one of the best looking ti road bikes I've seen. This side of a Speedwell that is:-)

Of course it won't. Did they not teach you the rudiments of Physics?
-
• #247
so i'm thinking a weight of about 6-7Kg's... am i close ? if so that's pretty good.

6kg. Could go lighter with carbon bits upstairs, but I don't do that sort of thing. Budget starts getting ridiculous, and things break.

mine is 8.1kg, and it is very big, and is built with fairly robust bits, the weight could be dropped easily with my non-commuting wheelset and more carbon than just the forks
Cash is always better than a hooker.
