  • I like how you let the your you're pass but get the name of a Berlin ghetto slightly wrong and you're all over it.

It's a case of picking the right battles ...

  • Ich liebe dich, Herr Schick

  • Smachine Art Nights week starts on Friday at the Urban Spree on Revaler Str, well worth a look

  • ^ sehr gut, ich mag artz n shit

  • haha. also worth to see what rembetis are up too. he had a very nice shop on oderberger strasse which was more of a museum then a shop. the shop was closed last wonter due to health issues of the owner but maybe he healed up. do a google (on phone now..), deffo recommended.

  • ^I miss Rembetis, Tommmm recommended Cikago Bude on Ebertystrasse, well worth a visit and really nice folk, also Velociao is a great stop a couple of blocks away on Petersburger Platz
For a nice afternoon go to the Mauer park on Sunday for karaoke around 3pm, Coca-Cola presents: Joe Hatchiban's story - Karaoke in Berlin Mauerpark - YouTube

  • Berlin Music Days this week and weekend, starting tomorrow.

Tons of great electronic music in many clubs ... if you're into that.

  • If you like abandoned buildings, heres a short list of Berlin sites.

  • Nice one guys, I'm flying early on Fri morning, gonna have most of fri to explore, prob sat too before doing stuff with friends on sun / mon

  • The flea markets have cheap - €30 rat bikes... worth cycling Berlin - by far the best way to get around - impossible to get lost.

    Flea markets :
    Boxhagener Platz
    Mauerpark
    Arkonaplatz

All this thought about Berlin is making me want a Club Mate.

  • They do a pomegranate Club Mate now, it's nice.

  • sounds good, I'll have to hunt down a bottle. theres a health food store on portobello (under the west way) that sells the normal version - the owner told me customers regularly come in and buy cases of it.

  • The Rio Cinema in Dalston sells it as well. My girlfriend got me a case fir my birthday a couple of years back, I was made up.

I miss Berlin, if there were any jobs there for the likes of me I'd seriously consider moving back. Going for NYE and staying with friends there, I'm really looking forward to it.

  • Ordering cases in Manchester is great (via https://www.clubmate-uk.com/):

We have a free next day delivery service to Greater Manchester following areas: Manchester, Stockport, Marple, Cheadle, Hazel Grove, Bramhall, Oldham, Royton, Chadderton, Salford, Cheadle, Gatley, Sale, Rochdale, Middleton, Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Dunkinfield, Swinton, Pendlebury, Worsley, Chadderton, Altrincham, Stretford, Eccles, Urmston, Radcliffe, Walkden, Prestwich, Hyde, Bredbury, Romiley, Denton, Farnworth, Irlam, Hindley, Droylsden, Whitefield.
We deliver all orders to Greater Manchester 7 days a week between 9 am and 7 pm.

You get an accurate 1 hour delivery window and a guy just rocks up from the distrubtor(I guess) in a van with as many cases as you order. Also does Fritz Cola too...

  • I shall attempt to track down a club mate just for you

  • farken ell ! What's next ? the club mate augmented reality mobile app - I'm pitching it to the dragons den.

  • Mate is crap!

  • i'm in two camps about mate; its sooooo good, taste and boost.

but when i went for a dentist checkup, he asked me why my glazing was that of a 60y/o. i'm 26. the only frizzy drink i had been drinking regularly after the last checkup was club-mate.

conclusion; its sooooo gooooood but hell it eats up yo teeths!

  • meth mouth?

  • ^i like your thinking, but my speed use wasnt as regular as my club mate..

  • Looking at going to Berlin in April for a couple of days.
No reason, just not well travelled, seems a good enough place to start as any.

No bikes, just me and the wife and a couple of cameras.
Any recommendatiosn for things to see and do?

  • What are you interested in?

If you want to go round the Reichstag Dome make sure you book a few weeks in advance, it's free but hard to get a ticket on the day.

  • ^read through this thread, I found loads of useful info before I went

  • I took a stroll from the East side Ostkreutz station, though an urban area, to the East Side Gallery of art on the former Berlin Wall. From there I headed towards the TV tower and 'Unter Den Linden' a main road that takes you to the Brandenburg Tor, Bundestag / Reichstag and then south to the Holocaust Memorial which is well worth visiting. Then a further stroll took me to Checkpoint Charlie (museum though I didn't visit) and that was me done.

That was a fair old walk for my buggered knees, I mistook ostkreutz (station) for ostbahnhof (station) so it's my own silly fault. I bought a map at the airport which was vital for the first section of my exploratory trundle

  • Here's some Berlin advice, if you're an Anglophone, go and see this! http://www.tipi-am-kanzleramt.de/en/programme-tickets/e/ps/sev/pv/pid/433/
