Would also choose the 140mm Sektor over a 120mm Recon
Who am I kidding. I'd get a 180mm Lyrik.

Maestro is meant to be good in that respect. I'd rather go with a suspension design that's been proven to work well for a few years now.
Oh - I was thinking about the weight. Slash is burlyburly. Pikes and whatnot. Remedy a bit less so. I know nothing about full sus designs : /

This one already has a dropper and lighter finishing kit.

What does she ride now?

And where does she ride it, generally?

That's perfect.
Even come fitted with higher spec tyres than your dale ;-)

She's ridden Trek Remedy / Slash, a Marin 140mm thing at Afan last week, my Stanton Slackline (hated it)
It will mostly be ridden at BPW and the alps during summer. But it will go places where you need to pedal up.
Basically, we hire for her because she doesn't ride MTB enough to justify having one, however the economics of hiring against £1600 '15 bikes from Pauls and a fully equipped workshop at home don't really stack up long term.

Yeh, on paper, there's nothing you'd want to change.
Maybe lose the inner tubes tho ;)

Also nice to arrive at a trail, already knowing how your bike handles.

Yeh, dat too. And knowing you have brake pads that aren't on their last legs, and tyres that have a pressure more suitable than 65psi.

Going to ride the Masts tomoz.

Rode the Quantocks last weekend. Was all boring as fuck old school cross country but was guided to some excellent downhill runs in the woods. It is a beautiful area, that part of Somerset.
Had a bash at Cwmcarn the other day ands met up with some mates from the Surrey Hills and London. Was great, had the best of both worlds; being in Wales but meeting up with old riding mates from the south-east.

Woz at Afan last weekend - enjoyed it but confused about how a loop ride can be ninety percent up hill. Damn you wales!

Yeah, bit harsh there, but much frustration pedalling my 160mm travel, 15 kilo bike up endless bridleways.
Have figured I need at least a lightweight XC biek, an all mountain biek and a downhill rig.
Plus a van.Anyone got £12000 they can lend me?

Which loops did you do? The Masts isn't the same as the trail center though, it's the set of natural trails near Pontrhydyfen.
Maestro is meant to be good in that respect. I'd rather go with a suspension design that's been proven to work well for a few years now. Would also choose the 140mm Sektor over a 120mm Recon for riding down proper mountains.
