Ah. Random is hard to work around.
We should do a sunday ride soon then. -
• #653
I know it. Having a week day off is fun, not having two days off the road is not. How does sunday the 23rd sound? Anyone up for it and know somewhere by train that would be good?

I almost cried the day I snapped my Kona Kileaua I loved that bike, not ridden a hardtail since. Should be picking a 29er on Thursday if Evans get there finger out so its off up to Scotland and the 7stanes, can't wait really looking forward to going back to hardtail again

I definitely cried that day. -

Yo. SDW defiantly at some point, I just need the time. The real hardcore can do the South downs way double (sub 24hr, but that sound too serious for me, plus no camping! sac le bleu) . As Momentum said due to our (defiantly mine) fitness over this summer due to not much riding we thought we'd take it easy and keep it North downs style.
End of September / early October MAY work for me but I will not know for a while. If everything goes to plan I'll be in Scotland end of September.

Now that is inspiring.
Even if half that write up is the guy name dropping. -

Even if half that write up is the guy name dropping."Just as I was reaching the crest of the hill who should come over to meet me from the other direction? Non other than Brad and Christina on segways, on their annual SDW charity segway ride. They rode with me for a bit but stopped for dinner. We arranged to get my people to call their people to do lunch so they could organise that we do lunch when they are next in town."
"Which was nice."

I'd definately be up for riding some seven stanes routes once i get a MTB again. :)

It did read a lot like that.
Still, credit due to the guy for 200 offroad miles in less than 20 hours. -

Me too I'm from Edinburgh so Glentress was pretty much my local trail, love it. Plan is to do Ae or Mabie Friday then Glentress and Innerliethen on Sat and Sun. Heard that Ae is not so good at the moment, last time I was there they had loads of diversions as they were changing bits so not sure whats happened. Would like to give the downhill track a go but to be honest the drop in the middle really frightens me!

Definitely up for SDW but away for a few weeks in September so don't think I could do whole weekend of 5/6. Would be up for a Sunday ride on 6 September if you want to plan that far ahead Nhatt! Are you gonna borrow Lincoln's bling ti bike? Awesome if you do! We have mainly been riding North Downs or Swinley so the trains run from Waterloo, but there is meant to be pretty good riding in Chilterns (Paddington) and Epping Forest as well.
-
• #664
Epping is dull but easy to get too.
Chilterns and the northdowns are awesome. I'd be up for Sunday the 6th. -
• #665
Book me in. I'll double check with Lincoln to make sure I can use his Nicolai.

Paging Hillbilly. Paging mr H.Billy?
Can you read us. -

That's why I've never been - for me it's a pain to get to Epping cos I live in Brixton and everyone says the riding's a bit rubbish. I love the North Downs but have been riding there a lot and would like to check out the Chilterns, so maybe we could head that way if you know some good riding there?

Cool beans - Lincoln's bike is sooo ridiculously nice (like all his bikes) so it will be cool if you can borrow it. Someone on here might have one you could use if he will be using it

The rumor is that he has never ridden the bloody thing, so it isn't a problem. It's kinda turned into the shop bike. I'm looking forward to playing on it, I've never ridden dual suspension before.

here's another rumour:
Night time Halloween Cyclo Cross at Herne Hill, with bar, music, BBQ, fancy dress....plus we're gonna run a single speed / fixed race too...
actually it's not a rumour, may even get it's own thread.

I am so there.
It's time to build a Roadrat.

• #672
I need to get out of lONDON soon... jeez!
similarly to Mom / Tomyy, don't feel I've got the miles in me at the moment, but since I need to start somewhere I'm up for some ND / SDW action soon. Just need 10 days notice to sort out my work thing.
You gonna be SS em? I am considering using the Kona. -

I just checked who tagged 'idiots' - and apparently it was me!?

The only gears I have are the look and I can't imagine I'll be wanting to ride that off road anytime soon.I was debating putting some gears on the DMR for a while but it'll likely only be 9 at the back. The funding doesn't allow this at the moment though so it'll be SS for a while yet.

Awesome! Time to take the mudguards and racks off my cross check. That sounds like a lot of fun and I think it would only proper to do it fixed.
When you say night time, does that mean people need to use proper lights? The Herne Hill cross track will get pretty dark...

You gonna be SS em? I am considering using the Kona.Yes mate! You've got ten days notice to take 6 September off so come with us for that ride. I'm riding SS at the moment after I took the cassette off for SSUK, but I think doing the whole SDW SS would be pretty ridiculous and involve a fair bit of walking - check out the profile maps here http://www.bikedowns.co.uk/Profile%20All.htm#ProfileAll
No, I have sundays plus one random day off every week.
