The bike for people who don't know which side of the fence they want to be on.

Thanks for the Peaslake recommendation, by the way. Finally got around to going yesterday: good fun. I got trains there (several of them) which was a bit of a faff, but great riding. Was super-sunny though so I basically melted.

Y U NO 650B?
Invented for people like you, surely?

650 fo trail riding ya; 29 for XC mile munching.
But yeah small 29er frames can look odd

Y U NO 650B?
Not much of a 2nd hand market yet?

anyone who thinks my new bike is not super awesome can >>>>>>>
It's going to live in Devon, to solve the conundrum of how to take both mtb and road bike when visiting les parents when where they live is so good for both.

Looks fun :-)

Looks like you took the photo at a weird angle. So what's the marketing blurb they spout to justify a 69er? They need to clear stock of now defunct 26er wheels? It looks weird? I just don't get it? Your front wheel will glide over stuff, and your rear wheel will drop straight into holes.
-
• #5939
I didn't take the photo, I haven't got it yet. And I've no idea, it's secondhand. But I love my Singular 69er, it's loads of fun.

Looks like it'll be wicked bendix, ignore my sarky comment, my mate has a trek 69er and it's lovely. I think the benefit is that the rear end remains short for delicious manual labia and nimbleness whilst the front is rolley and goes over everything. Of course this makes the bike go at two speeds, which is just weird.

delicious manual labia
Fuck me, best auto correct evar, I meant 'manual-ability'
-
• #5942
Will probably cause some kind of schism in the space -time continuum.
I don't care anyway, my other 69er is ludicrously fun and I fully expect this one to be the same, so all you haterZ have done nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for it. The only problem is it's being sent straight to Devon and I won't get to play with it till June. Hrumph.

does anyone have 2 x 185mm post mounts for sale ?
and point me towards some decent 185mm rotors that are going cheep cheep currently ?I've only found one. It's Magura and says "QM-6 PM6-180"...
-
• #5947
it is possible that is a post mount rather than isis ? i can't see the holes for the avid to mount on
let me investigate further -
• #5948
Yep - PM6-180 looks like post to post.
I might have some IS -> Post kicking around

Anyone riding their mtb this weekend? I STILL haven't managed to get out on a proper ride on my ECR.

Went out on mine today and got slightly more air than anticipated.
Crashed into a tree. May have fractured my little finger. Ho hum.
I've just bought another 69er.
