Just built this to ride New Zealand with:
Old Orange Gringo frame but love the paint on it. Old fashioned geometry making for a good touring steed. Middlebrun cranks, Thomson stem and seatpost, XT gearing, Shimano/mavic wheels, Mutanoraptor tyres, handsome dog fork, complete with matching stickers:
Gearing necessary for the hills and distance of New Zealand, but when I get back figure I'm going to reinvent this as singlespeed

Tommy and me are going down to Dorking on Saturday for a nice loop over the hills if anyone wants to join us. Sunshine forecast every day between now and then so the trails should be nice, the grass will be green and the birds will be singing! Anyone else want to come?

quite easy to extend it by doing another loop on pitch/winterfold hills -

Indeed. We did almost the same loop on Saturday (just without Pitch Hill) and it was fucking awesome - fast and smooth!

I need to go offroad and I don't think it's going to happen until next month.
Still the fixed polo bike offroading in Rouen could prove entertaining. -

the only place i have been around London (ie without having to borrow a car) is Epping. Would be fun to go somewhere with some single track kinda stuff though.

Epping has some sweet singletrack, just gotta know where to look ;)

Well I have been going to Dorking again and again. But good news is that I have a map!

lets keep bumping this I'm sure peeps will join in.
Any preference of day? I'm leaning towards Sunday / Monday. -

You want to get yourself to the section of forest between Buckhurst hill and Loughton for a nice bit of downhill singletrack. It runs down a hill From Buckhurst Hill towards Loughton, inbetween the high road and epping new road, so the best way to access it is to come out the top of palmerston road in buckhurst hill, turn right onto the high road, and swing a left at the next available turn off to get into the forest, (there's a few roads that lead there).
