Tom
Are there other good places near gisburn?
It sounds like somewhere we couldn't have some fun.

? It's a forest in the middle of nowhere, the trails are fantastic, what else are you looking for?
-
• #4755
Hoping to take a week off and do some offroading but would want to ride more than just one place.
-
• #4756
Afan? Quite a few trails there, and you could ride cwmcarn on the way back. Might be a bit too groomed for you though.

Will you be driving? Could do a day in gisburn, a day or 2 in the dales, a couple of days in the lakes then finish up with a trip to the bikeradar favourite Dolby forest?
Some amazing riding in the lakes and dales....

From Gisburn you could go north and do Hamsterley Forest and the new trail centre at Kielder.

Sounds like a trip oop north is on the cards. The other half has a 4wd car and we have a monstrous thule rear rack so I could take the 29er and if it has finally been built the fatbike.

If anyone does this I can show you some of the non groomed trails.

TM, is there a location between most of the locations you mentioned that would make a good place to stay for a few days?
-
• #4764
If you don't mind an hour in the car each end of the day, the lakes is a lovely place to stay. Windermere itself is nice, as are countless other villages/towns around lake Windermere and neighbouring Coniston...
I'd maybe stay a couple of nights in the Lakes and a couple in the Dales, just ride from the doorstep each morning.
If you still fancied Dolby you could call in there on the last day on the way home?

Took the Honzo on a trip to Aston Hill yesterday. Had such a good time on surface to air. Bailed on a couple of the drop offs as the speed bumps scare the shit out of me as my rear wheel just flies up all over the place and I didn't want to be landing in the craters . It also wasn't ideal that my rear brake was contaminated and beyond useless. Will definitely be investing in some 203 and 180 rotors.

where are you?
I dont think you'd want this mate.
To give you some perspective - that Azonic Shorty you bought off of me is about 300grams
This is 400!
I had it on the Colier, where weight was of no concern to me.
